Bought a house...smashes a hole and found....

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Haha yes well we bought a property in a place called Friston in Sussex. It needed a lot of work and the renovations are still on going. knocking through at the ground floor has unearthed some interesting things.

I wondered why the 'cellar' had been bricked up but then it was simple...a lower holding cooler has been built with the garage which hadn't been used for years...the entrance to the holding had a door which had become overgrown with the locally abundant ivy. Nobody had ever chopped it down.

I am still in the process of trying to find out why the wall was bricked up in the interior of the house.......one is interested to knock down some more......

Sell. If someone had hidden away such a collection, there could be some expensive and rare vintages in there. And it would be wasted on people who don't drink high quality wines - obviously not a personal sleight, simply true of most alcohol's and people who don't often partake.

Fascinating find though, it's like buried treasure :D Must have been neat uncovering it.

As one earlier poster said, should save a bottle or two for the next time we win the league... it'll be twice as valuable by then!

No, thanks. I drink wine only on rare occasions. I prefer beer Image

Sammy we have a proper Sommelier who owns an exclusive wine business in our village.

If you forwarded a list of what you have to me I could drop it into him.

Don't take Mark the Juice's first offer Sammy. You're sitting on a small fortune there. What a bloody lovely result. I'm really pleased for you. :D

Well done fella, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. Maybe you can use it to pay the council for your non existent pension? ;)
