The thing I find funny is that everybody and his dog goes on about how they would like an Arsenal fan on the board. We did in Danny Fizsman he used to stand on the clock-end and supported Arsenal all his life.

Who helped fund the DB10 & David Platt deals back in 95, who used to back DD in all the deals he wanted to make for the club. Why would somebody who didnt care for the club fly players backwards and forwards in his jet so they could get back to games on time.

I think fans just need a fall guy for all that they think has gone wrong with the club and he being the silent partner in all of DD's dealings and the driving force behind the move to the new ground is the one you look too.

Reading up on the man I can not find one bad report on any of his dealings with Arsenal from anybody who knew or delt with him, plenty from people who assume a lot though!!!!!!

I don't think we know what to believe frankly given that this club is notoriously secretive about its dealings and has even shown this tendency right up until now.

But as i said there are two clear questions that these reports as well as those you refer to. First is why the slavish devotion to the self-sustaining business model after this then if these stories are ture? Clearly there was no such devotion if these reports are accurate in the none-too-distant past, so why now? When the model was fatally compromised by our non-footballing ventuures for several seasons at least?

The second question again assuming all this is in fact true would be do Dan Fiszman's earlier actions justify the actions he mmay have taken from 2005 forward somehow? I think the answer lies in the undenaibale lack of candor no matter the reasons from Mr. Fiszman himself and the Club as a whole ahead of these actions. Clearly if they felt they and theirn actions were somehow right or fair they didn't believe anyone else woulfd feel as striongly in agreement as they were comfortable with.

So I think we would need to know more and quite a bit more all the way around to really have a clear undertsnading of all this.

One more thing I would argue many people use Arsene Wenger as the very same way for all this. Why is the manager different somehow?

FIZMAN WAS A *word censored*

Post by Herd »

STG you really shouldn't believe everything you read .

Danny Fizman never ever stood on the clock end nor supported Arsenal at all, this is all Pravda Puff !

He was a wealthy Diamond Dealer who knew fuck all about football before coming to the Arsenal .

I remember very clearly one of the first Interviews with him when he got a bit flummoxed when asked a football question and said he didn't know much about football but intended to learn.

The lies about his life long passion for Arsenal and his subsequent canonisation are the Stuff ( dont u mean Puff ?) of legend !

His Legacy is that he has sold the Mighty Arsenal into US Ownership and extracted the last centime from the buyer.
In doing so he has guaranteed us another 20 years of mediocrity as a cash strapped also ran franchise that the Owner will squeeze for money
to recoup his outlay ( and the loans he will have to take out )or will sell it on to another Super rich cuntoid who wants a plaything for yet more cash !

We already have some very questionably high "Operating Costs" expect more shenanigans as time goes by .
Thanks Danny Boy !

Don't worry Mr Herd I don't believe everything I read.

So he was introduced into the club by DD who sold his shares and made money from the deal.... True or false?

He helped fund the buying of players and players wages.....true or false?

Who was he ment to sell his shares to then. How many English billionaire Arsenal supporters wanted to buy them?

The thing is that unless you either personally knew the man or had access to what happend in the boardroom you do not know and that is where you have to read up on the man by people who did. Do we trust DD's statements about him after the falling out they had or do we trust his statements about him before the falling out?
The man is in a no win situation with many if somebody like Mr Adams comes out and says good things about him you find fault and dismiss it.

[quote="stg"]Don't worry Mr Herd I don't believe everything I read.

He helped fund the buying of players and players wages.....true or false?Complete and Utter rubbish, he never put a single cent into the club other than pay for his shares.

Who was he meant to sell his shares to then. How many English billionaire Arsenal supporters wanted to buy them? The point is he could have sold out a long time ago at much less per share which would have done far less harm to the club ,and still lived to spend some of it ,instead he held on until his demise leaving us with a debt ridden owner who will seek to recoup his outlay by sucking the money out of the club or sell on again.

The thing is that unless you either personally knew the man or had access to what happend in the boardroom you do not know and that is where you have to read up on the man by people who did. Do we trust DD's statements about him after the falling out they had or do we trust his statements about him before the falling out? David Dein as Ive said before is as big a *word censored* as Fizman was. I do know a lot of what went on between them though

The man is in a no win situation with many if somebody like Mr Adams comes out and says good things about him you find fault and dismiss it
I suppose you are right he is in a no win situation largely Owing to the fact he's dead !

Is there anybody who has anything to do with the Arsenal you do like?

So it's nice to know that players like Tony Adams and Bob Wilson are not telling the truth when they talk about DF then.

True he could of done but he didn't and to be honest why should he of and if DD had his way he would of sold-out to the same man anyway.

Spill then beans then on what you know

So we are ment to belive you about DF but not anybody else?

Unfortunately NO ONE is going to be spilling any beans here, lads. The man may be dead but his estate can have us closed down pronto. So please, post nothing that cannot be proved and nothing that could be considered libellous or defamatory...

There are a few points I would like to make re the above -

1. Is it not a practice in the world today that everybody lavishes praise on a guy when he is dead but those same people either have nothing to say about the guy or actually slate him when he is alive ? I have always said to the missus that when I die if she decides to stand on the alter and say a few words about me that I want here to start with the line that I always thought of as a bollox when I was alive and I want to be remembered as one when I am dead 8) Personally I actually despise the hypocritical bullshit that goes on after a person is dead

2. Willow also struck me as pro british and anti foreigners cos it always seemed that way when he defended english keepers at the club that most of us felt were not good enough. If I am right about that then maybe it would bother him that we are now owned by 2 foreigners therefore he speaks up for fizsman on the basis of nationality and for the reasons listed in my first point.

3. Fizsman sold his shares to kroene and verdict on that decision will be judged in due course however he (and the other board members) sold out after speaking nothing but pure and utter bullshit about their long term commitment to the club and their dedication to keep the multi club ownership in place. I cannot understand how this point has been allowed to slip by without much criticism from the fans although it might be due to the fact that it hppened at the same time as fizsman dying and nobody wants to speak ill of the dead  Fact is that he supported a policy that seen minimal investment to the team and a resulting healthy balance sheet to investors which in turn raised the value of his shareholding. I dont care whether it was his idea or not cos at the end of the day it resulted in a major downturn in the teams performances and successes and he done nothing to change it and for me in doing so club motives were cast aside for personal gain

I have never disagreed with usmartins criticisms of the board but what gets on my nerves is his constant constant defending of all things wenger despite evidence    :banghead:
It kills me to actually post anything that even fractionally opens the door for him to continue his incessant musings but I can only say what I see and if kroenke continues down that same route and refuses to challenge wenger for his continual mismanagement then I will slate him in the same way 8)

If I have time today I will try and find the quotes from Bob Wilson and Tony Adams(not the one Quartz posted as he has stated these facts before) about DF as I think these were from a few years ago when DF was very much alive.
So please, post nothing that cannot be proved and nothing that could be considered libellous or defamatory...
Thats the thing DB10 I do not think there is anything that can be proved, it's all just stories, word of mouth etc as I said unless they knew the man or had dealings with him regarding his involvment at Arsenal alll you can go on is what the people who did have dealings with him have said about him and what he did for The Arsenal and then you have to look at the motives behind those statements

So did he sell out after spouting bullshit about his long term commitment to the club and its multi ownership policy ? Please dont tell me that those comments were made pre his diagnosis because quartz will confirm to you that was not the case as we had read them on this forum prior to many of his bullshit commitment statements.
Also did he allow a sustained period of under investment in the playing squad ? During that time did he also oversee a huge increase in the value of his shareholding ? Even if you conclude (innocently I would suggest) that these two facts are not related then it still does not disguise his inability to take wenger to task over his mismanagement and for that he too is culpable :x

I know mate, but we have to be careful. We were shut down before because of "unguarded" comments.

I do find the DF story interesting though; there are as many people that say "he was never on the CE watching games" as there are saying "he was die hard old Arsenal, watched games on the CE"!!

I suppose it is easier to prove he was there rather than prove he wasn't - after all if someone knew him and was there with him then that's proven, but it's very hard to be able to say he wasn't there just because I (or whoever) didn't see him there!!
