As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
lots of people complaining that he didn't get enough chances for the first team - well, maybe he didn't deserve them. JET was known for his laziness and he is one of those fellas who can disappear for 80 minutes, and even if he can make a difference in the other 10, i guess his commitment was way too low for a youngster at a top club.
he'll probably become a good player and maybe even feature in the premier league, but i think it was a good piece of business to get a few cash for a player who also has the biggest problem in this arsenal squad: lack of commitment and determination. we don't need more of that sort.
not that we'll spend the money though, mind you. it's one more million to the pockets of mr kroenke and co.

Cashley and Jack the only two who have made it into the team permanently from our so called great yoof academy. Its just a learning ground for championship quality players.Compare our academy with West Hams
There are players you can tell won't make it at the very highest level after watching them for 10 minutes, and for me JET was always one of them. The only time I've seen a youth / reserve team player and felt 100% sure he wouldn't make it and been proven wrong was Song..but then again nobody would have had the patients with him that AW's had...and I still don't think we ever will win a EPL or CL with him as a regular.
Talking about players you thought would make it, who are the players you were most surprised never made it? For me I gotta say Matt Connolly. I used to follow the reserves quite a lot back then and I never saw him put a foot wrong, he was made captain for the reserve team and he was even bossing Sol Campbell about one game when he was returning from injury. Apart from a couple of league cup games at right back he was never given a chance at the first team. From what I understand he's been doing well at QPR and I hope to see him in PL this season.
Quincy is another one, but i'm sure he would have made it if he was putting his career before how much money he can get out of the game.
Can't be a hypocrite on this one.....I'm glad that the club have acted quickly and sold up.
Saw him half a dozen times for Cardiff and thought he looked fucking awful - terrible touch, lazy and arrogant. Obviously believed his own FA Youth Cup hype.
If we've got £1m+ for him plus sell-ons we've done OK. Just wish we'd acted like this with Vela, Fabianski, Randall and Simpson instead of pretending they might come good 5 years later
