Actually the problem is that I might be right and you might be wrong, and that there are serious consequences to the answer especially if I am right. And for all those who insist that if that is the case (my being corrent) they will then step up and say something in protest it will mean nothing then because it will already be too late and even more damage done to Arsenal than will be that much harder and more costly to correct than had to be had we all spoken up sooner

Marty speaks a lot of sense about the board - sure he has no real evidence for what he claims, but it kinda fits, and he is entitled to his views.

The big problem I have with him is the way he diverts any criticism away from Wenger and diverts it all on the board. He always seems to make out that Wenger is the helpless damsel and its the evil board that are entirely at fault (sure, there is the token critisism of Wenger, but its always followed up by a financial report of some kind)

The Glaziers bought ManUtd and although I dont have evidence (!) Im pretty sure they went in to make money out of the club. Maybe an even worse situation than Arsenal. Why have they not gone down the mediocrity route that Arsenal have gone down? Alex Ferguson. This man puts footballing principles (winning) ahead of everything. He knows that success in itself makes money. He has made sure that what is happening at Arsenal does not happen at ManUtd. A man worthy of being called a Football Manager, unlike that wimp/pansy sellout called Wenger. And thats why it is IMPERITIVE that Wenger gets his arse kicked out so hard away from North London. This plan by the board doesnt work if Wenger was a real football manager.

And Marty totally fails to accept the fact that Wenger is currently not even a good manager. Again, always diverting the blame to the board, pointing to the 'wonderful' Wenger pre-2005. Yawn yawn.

Look at the stupidity of Wenger keeping Almunia as our keeper for so long. Stubborn *word censored* had 2 keepers at the club better than him but believed in Almunia. Why oh why are the likes of Eboue, Rosicky, Denilson and Diaby still at the club? Getting renewed contracts?? Why the fuck cant Wenger not see that with Song being a regular in the starting XI we cannot win anything? Why oh why has Wenger stood by Clichy for so long? Again, Marty will always stand by Wenger. The board have held a gun to his head after 2005.

Big Lunn I appreciate your reasoned comments and criticsm. I just don't believe that we would have seen the team run in the same way with the same players if the sma sort of money was made available and used the same way from 2005 onward.

I just don't believe you will find any manager that could with the severely depleted resources Arseene Wenger has ahd since that year could have done the smae let alone better really than he has.. If I could be 100% certain that the next man would have 100% backing to do whatever tit took financially(within reason) to coreect the weaknesses we all see I would happily call for that change.. But I am anything but 100% certain of that being the case and I don'yt hink anyone can be 100% certain of that being the case right now.

As for what happened at United I have to disagree a bit. At the time the Glazers took United had finished third and badly beaten third in three of four seasons. they had the league handed to them the one other yearm and their only other trophy came against competition almost two divisions beneath them. People were actually calling for Sir Alex's head around Old trafford.

I think the extra financial support he got then and continues to get now. was a decision form the Glazers, not because they're great guys and honest blokes or even Red Mancs (they aren't any of those things that I have seen). they did it because had they done anything else they would have lost even more of the supporter base from day one. By investing in success - speculating to accumulate - they not only held onto thosem supporters who were wavering but probably even got back a few who actually left United in protest against their takeover initially because of how the team has succeeded on the pitch.

As I said long ago underinvestment can be just as dangerous to your success as over-investment. I think that is our problem. I'm just not nearly as confident as some that that will change the instant there is a managerial change.

I'm sorry I would rather trust in what we do know (which is when there was more money put int the team is built and maintained at a much higher level by Arsene Wenger and did much better on the pitch without pushing us to the brink of financial ruin off it)than rely on mere hope that maybe things will change with the appointment of a new manager. Because what if they don't? What then? How many more years do we have to suffer for someone simply to have even more money banked away than they already did?

I have to say I am disappointed because usually you are far more clever - even at my expense - than you have shown yourself here, Marc.

No I mean had we simply shown the Baord that did not 100% supporter support or consent to run the club any way we pleased and to disregard how the supporters might feel about that they may have done things even slighly differently as the Glazers did up at old Trafford and dimniished our suffering and frustration and anger at our easily avoidable decline.

Its just like if you run a shop that people shoplift a lot in. If you just show you aren't just goijng to let it happen - add security cameras, add security guards, watch the shoppers more carefully the crooks will go to the place that isn't as vigilant. If we were more vigilant their conduct might not have been so brazenly one-sided and selfish as everything we know at the very least suggests it has been, and as stg does rightly point if that just resulted in our actually winning another trophy or two since 2005 we wouldn't give a toss what the Board did or how or why or hate our manager in some cases or with the venom we see that hate displayed.

Yes and I posted a petition that any Gooner whether blame the manager solely, the Board solely or like me, both parties (but in my case the Board primarily as I believe this all originated from inside the Board Room), and had enough Gooners been willing to sign it we might have at least gotten the message across

Thank you for the free advice. But waht I would really like to know is where your smoking gun is, what it is and of you have none why exactly that hasn't stopped you from beieving wehat you do and from discounting any other possibilities.

I should think that if a smoking gun is necessary to reach any conlusion then surely that holds true in reaching yours unless you are just operating with a double standard.

Sod off. I'm not peddling a "theory" to all and sundry. All I was doing by stating my theory was to show that everyone has a different view on matters, but no-one has the absolute proof to back it up.

Just because I disagree with you, doesn't meant I then need to prove my own theory right. Things aren't black and white.

I don't mean to insult you, because I don't mean to. But have you got some sort of social problem? You don't appear to approach life like everyone else does. You have an absolutely obsessive need to publish your theory and an obsessive need to convert others. It is as if you are trying to start a cult. But no-one is interested. Even if you were right, what would that achieve?

This place works well nearly all the time.

There are flare ups, some serious, but posters on here are either genuine Gooners or declare their allegiance to another club up front and it is no problem.

But this USMartin has consistently hit below the belt for over a year, and refused to discuss things in a respectful fashion.

I sincerely believe he is not a proper fan, and is just on here to wind up members.
He exhibits aggression and insulting behaviour every day.
