Almunia back for Brum

Post by Chunky The Gooner »

Skysports.com has the team and Almunia is back in. Bit harsh in my opinion. Jens didnt do anything wrong in his games bar some bad kicking but made some great saves and kept the score down against Man Utd

Yeah, it's a tad harsh. Especially how well Jens has been playing lately but...

not really it would of been harsh on Almunia as he is part of the team who has helped us get on top of the league for the majority of the season

I didn't agree with Lehmann being dropped at the start of the season, so I obviously don't agree with him being dropped again now.

The reason that Wenger dropped him back in August was because he thought he was past it, and was going to keep on making mistakes. The last few weeks have proved that this isn't the case, and adding in the fact that he's superior to Almunia in every department (except rage), I feel that the decision is harsh.

Plus, Lehmann is one of the few characters left at Arsenal these days, and his antics (such as his 'exchange' with Rooney last week) are a constant source of entertainment.

Not sure I agree BBP. Dropping at start of season was on the back of two bad mistakes. Cost us 2 points but could easily have been six (we would have been second now). Difference this time is he has waited, come back in and done a good job. Was easily best player against Man Urinals and without him would have been a lot worse. He made a couple of good saves in the week too.

Think he should have been kept in. Altohugh if Arsene does not see him here after end of season then no point in playing him. Keep Manuel's hand in ready for big games coming up.
