The Mata rumors are encouraging, starts me dreaming again....if only we'd sign Mata, Benzema and a CB and we'd be looking much better, get Scott Parker on a years loan and we'd be in with a shout!
disagree, teecee. unless we start training some fucking set pieces and press the opponents like we did in a (very) few games in the past, we can buy matthaus, pele, romario, maradona, cruiff and maldini and we'll still fuck up when it matters :banghead: :banghead:

we need better players and a different approach to the way we play. not defending like a pub team would help, for example :banghead:

To be honest there's too many papers jumping on the bandwagon on this Mata rumour so i'm not gonna believe it until i see him in the Arsenal shirt at the press conference, so until then i don't see the point in the usual suspects discussing whether we need him or not. All of us agree that the defence should take priority, most of us differ on who we should sign. I've read quite a few posts recently saying we should buy 2 CH's and move Vermaelen to LB, i think we should leave Vermaelen as our left-sided CH & sign Enrique from Newcastle to compete with Gibbs for LB. My 1st choice for CH is still Cahill, but not for £17 million. He's on the last year of his contract, if we can't get Bolton to reconsider, then we should turn to Jags or Samba. Does anyone still want another Keeper, or do they think the 3 we have at the moment are good enough to cope? I don't rate Mannone & would prefer we brought in an experienced GK to compete with the 2 Poles. Someone said recently and rightly that we are finding it hard to move on the fringe players like Bendtner, Denilson, Eboue etc, because of their wages, lets hope that Squillaci, Traore & Almunia have ambition to play football again, and move on quickly. Disappointed with some of the name-calling directed at our manager, also some on here talk about the manager more than they do the club callled Arsenal. If you can't say anything good, then say nothing at all.

I can see it now, arrive via Helicopter, fireworks, cheerleaders, crying mothers holding out their babies to be kissed on the forehead. All to welcome the world's greatest striker.

Wenger, who faces a battle to keep the services of Barcelona-bound captain Cesc Fabregas and contract rebel midfielder Samir Nasri, conceded he would not stand in Bendtner's way of a departure.

He said last week: 'How many will leave the club? I said from the start I will fight to keep everybody. Nicklas Bendtner might go and Emmanuel Eboue might go. They can talk to clubs, but the rest I will fight.'

Yeah but BG, all of those are like 60 years old or more so of course we'd struggle even with them in the team! 8)
