Cesc must quit for Barca

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've moved the following post from our Canadian cousin Barriecuda from the new thread he created to over here, as he obviously didn't see this specifically Cesc oriented thread :banghead: :banghead: :

Goal.com yes, but a good article nonetheless.

Add in the fact that Barca refuse to pay what he is worth and are trying to pry him away from us on the cheap and we have a very bad situation where Cesc is torn as he would not say no to joining his boyhood club but has too much respect for his current club to force a transfer.

Although this situation isn't at all ideal, it is a lot better than a situation where Cesc would be holding the club to ransom/slagging the club off in the papers/ doing anything to force a transfer. In reality Cesc, despite being courted by the best team for the past few years, has behaved with the utmost respect towards the club and seems to understand that we won't let him go unless we are offered serious money. For that reason i hold no grudges against Cesc at all and only hope that Barca can't put up the money so that we have our best player with us next season.
Fully agree.

We will miss him badly if he goes and I think he has served the club well on the pitch and with dignity about this whole matter.

I would laugh my head off if Espanyol came in with a £40m bid for Cesc and we accepted. :barscarf:

This article is a piece of crap trying to stir shit, but it is still unbelievably disrespectful of him to do what he has done. Not much better than fucking off to Catalonia to watch motor GP, is it? Spoiled little c**t.

Mods are actually moderating now?

Anyway, after seeing a little of this Thiago in pre-season, he looks to be the real deal. He scored a cracker in the friendly against Man Utd yesterday. I think that's part of the reason Cesc is so eager to go now.
