GAZZA

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You wouldn't criticise someone for having cancer so why do it with mental illness?

.
For years the **** have taken the piss out of Paul Merson and Tony Adams for their personal problems.

What goes round comes round.

I'm amazed how many Arsenal fans seem to take their cue of how to behave from Tottenham fans - since when were they a role model for anything?

Merse and TA were also not mentally ill

The point is we should give as good as we get.

If you don't believe that addictions are part of a mental or at least psychological defects then I would recommend you do a bit more research on the subject.

'What you give is what you get' might sound good in a Paul Weller tune, it's not necessarily a good maxim to live your life by - baring in mind that Gazza has not said anything personally about TA or Merse, you're giving him vicarious responsibility for what Spurs fans sing, he's not getting what he's giving is he?

And a lot of what that article indicates is that Gazza was mental before he was an alcoholic

I feel sorry for the bloke as he is a weak, stupid man who threw it all away and made mistake after mistake but regardless of who he played for I just hope the 'Gazza' story does not have a tragic ending as it seems to be heading that way.

And since when was it a crime to be stupid?
