The thing with this Mata deal. If a price was agreed etc, a deal still could be done at that price. Its only that the clause deadline has gone.

sorry, but that'll never happen. first, it would kill koscielny and djourou

second, that's over 30 million pounds in a week

we have already 4 defenders and 2 youngsters (bartley and miquel) and none of them seem to be on the move, so i really can't see us buying another pair. what the fuck are we supposed to do with SIX first team central defenders?

i'd love if it were true though, imagine cahill, jagielka and vermaelen fighting for two positions - it would surely result in a decent couple.

unless wenger does a wenger (!) and decides to play cahill as defensive midfielder and vermaelen left winger. and then squilacci and djourou at centreback

you just can't doubt the stupidities the man may do nowadays...
