Transfer Rumours Thread
I was an AKB before this summer, but unless he does something FAST he simply has to go! We can't go on like this. I saw them against New York Red Bull Gatorade Corndogs on Sunday and we were fucking inept! If that team turns out against Newcastle away Tiote and co will trounce us easy! Sell Cesc & Nasri buy Hazard & Mata, and get Jagielka and Cahill...ANYTHING short of this and we simply cannot win a thing...he will sign Jag and Mata at best (probs dreaming for this), keep Nasri who clearly will leave at the end of the year, and the Cesc saga will drag till August 31st when we will have no time to replace! Frustrating is not the word!

He extended the Arsenal-isation of the stadium programme, renamed the north bank to the north bank, the clock end to the clock end and the east and west stands to the east and west stands. What more do you want? That takes time, he can't do everything. As Mr Peter Hill-Wood said, “the fans will just have to be bloody patientâ€Peeman wrote:What does Ivan Gazidas actually do at club.

All we can hope for is that the chairmans quote about 'not doing our business in public' is true. We have just over a week to do this so called business, if not I do vision a lot of angry supporters at St James' Park come next Saturday. For some reason I can't see Mata, Cahill and Jagielka posing with their Arsenal shirts on the official website anytime soon, I for one am up for a chant of 'where's our money gone' and 'Liars...Liars...Liars'

Absolutely, especially when, with the possible exception of Jagielka and Mata there isn't even an ounce of truth in them. We are as likely to sign Gary Cahill as we are to sign Pele.defleppardisking wrote:I can't wait for the transfer window to close so that we can stop tormenting ourselves with all these stupid transfer rumours
HEAR, HEAR...then we can moan when we lose our first games oh why didn't we sign X Y & Z!!!defleppardisking wrote:I can't wait for the transfer window to close so that we can stop tormenting ourselves with all these stupid transfer rumours
This has to be the most unprepared an AFC team has been EVER before the start of a new year. Any signing we get now will take time to gel with practically no pre season, C'esc hasn't even turned out for us since last year, probs never will again and unless his replacement is Mata will need at least a month to get thrown in,(Mata by the way is a fucking clone of Cesc and an unreal player, whoever is responsible for not plumping the money should be shot if we miss out now!) and they all go on internationals next week, and return 2 days before newcastle away...this is getting INSANE!!! Fuck I'm nervous for the start of the season!
still 11 days to go and i believe that wenger will sign 2 players this week, he has too for his own sake, we get off to a bad start and wenger will be in trouble, the ground will be half full and there will be trouble from the stands for him. i dont want to see him hounded out but it will head that way unless he gets his act together.

I think most clubs now know that we will always try and buy cheap so to keep their players they just up the price a little and we fail.
I cant see Wenger lasting another season the fans are going to slaughter the team this season.
Its obviously why Nasri and Cesc want to leave. Why should they stay when the team is getting worse every season.
Our defending is possibly in the bottom 5 clubs of the Premier League. United lose a Goalkeeper and then splash out 18 Million on a new one.
Its a vital position but La Boss doesnt think so.
Now Mr Wenger who has not got a Billionaire owner but has won it all over the last few seasons ?
I just feel for the season ticket holders to be honest.

Well that was exactly my point at the start of July when all the AKBs were urging for patience and patronisingly asking everyone to stay calm and remember that the window closes at the end of August.jonny3110 wrote:HEAR, HEAR...then we can moan when we lose our first games oh why didn't we sign X Y & Z!!!defleppardisking wrote:I can't wait for the transfer window to close so that we can stop tormenting ourselves with all these stupid transfer rumours

Well what's the fucking point in waiting:
a) as you rightly say, the new signings have no time to settle in and Arsenal have a unique style of play to adapt to
b) do you actually get any better value for money. I would argue not. If you've got some money from sales and its the last day or two of the window the selling club actually inflate the price more than anything
c) we would have played our two legged CL qualifier by the end of the month, plus 3 tough league games in Newcastle (a), Liverpool (h) and Mancs (a). Why would you want to run the risk of being six points or so off the pace by that stage for the sake of holding out on key transfers for an extra couple of weeks.
d) you risk the wrath of supporters when it's all so avoidable
But there is no logic at Arsene FC anymore because it is owned and run by non-football people.
The best thing that can happen to this football club, and it pains me to say it, is that they put in a dire two-legged performance in the CL and get knocked out. If the club think the mild booing and disapproval of higher ticket prices represents impatience, then I can't wait to see the reaction if we realise before the season has barely started that we will be playing in the Europa League and minus Cesc and Nasri.
The discontent hasn't even started yet.
Unlike those who are clinging to blind faith on here, I refuse to believe that 2 new players will be joining the club, and even if they do they won't be defenders. His words were there for all to see in the weekend's programme "we have four centre halves and Carl can play there too". He also looks like he'll be retaining Bartley and Miquel so he may well argue that he has 7.
The guy is a fruitcake. Go into the news archive and read his comments after the last AGM in October 2010. He talks about the "unique culture" we have for our young players to develop into, and that "Squillaci, Koscielny and Chamakh have all integrated well. They are winners"
This guy isn't changing for anyone - not you, not me, not 60000 regulars, not a fan base globally. He still has 3 years left on his contract and he clearly feels he can stick with this project with no fear that Gazidis or Kroenke will have the balls to fire him......and unless we miss out on the CL he's probably right in that regard
^^^ Excellent post. AKBs & Wenger are slowly but surely killing this club.
Its crazy that the club is not investing in the team NOW to avoid the slip out of the top 4. Sack Wenger, give new ambitious manager £50m to spend (maybe total £100m with the the sale of Nasri & Cesc), buy 4-6 key new players, and at least this can stop the decline. Heck, the owners dont even need to dip into their own pockets - apparently the club have £100m cash in the bank!
I understand the meaning of a 'self-sustaining' business model, but what business doesn't also 'speculate to accumulate'? Look at ManUtd - massive debt BUT they are investing in their core football team and they ARE making a good profit & reducing the debt. Every club would dream of being in our position!
As it is, Wenger is still in charge, 2 non-essential players have signed, transfer window closing in less than 4 weeks and season starting in less than 2. If this isnt blind ignorance of an impending disaster (much like the 'unsinkable' Titanic) what is?
95% of Arsenal PLC is owned by just 3 people - Kroenke, Usmanov, and Moshiri. Combined wealth makes them multi billionaires.supergeorgegraham wrote: Now Mr Wenger who has not got a Billionaire owner but has won it all over the last few seasons ?

Kroenke & Usmanov/Moshiri are different to the old board - they paid top dollar for their ownership of Arsenal. I have hope that they wake up and stop the slide by getting a new manager and revamp the squad. Surely its not in their interest not to let the team slide further downwards - devaluing their investment and killing revenue? It should have happened 2 months ago, but I suspect if we get off to a bad start (agreeing with SteveO 35) it will happen before Xmas.SteveO 35 wrote:The best thing that can happen to this football club, and it pains me to say it, is that they put in a dire two-legged performance in the CL and get knocked out.
