To keep y'all in the loop - LOL
Sky Sports
Barcelona are expected to make a renewed bid for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas after Pep Guardiola admitted that he is missing just one player.

The European champions have been chasing the Spain international for two years and the midfielder is himself thought to want to return to his boyhood club.

Arsenal have this summer already rejected a £26million bid from Barcelona for Fabregas, while the English club's chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, has also said another 'tentative' offer has been unsuccessful.

Fabregas is thought to be valued at a minimum of £40m by Arsenal, but Barcelona's next offer is reportedly set to be worth just £27m - a figure that is unlikely to tempt The Gunners into doing business with the Camp Nou outfit.

"As Arsene said, we are looking to buy some players, but we are not going to do our business in public."

But, having already signed Chile star Alexis Sanchez from Udinese in July, Barcelona manager Guardiola has offered a less than subtle hint that he is still determined to complete a deal for Fabregas.

Guardiola is quoted as saying in the Daily Telegraph: "We're short of just one player and everyone knows which one that is."

The loss of Fabregas would come as a bitter setback for Arsenal fans, who at the weekend booed their team from the field following a 1-1 draw with New York Red Bulls.

Manager Arsene Wenger's failure to complete a major signing in the transfer window has been another cause for complaint, despite the interest in Valencia's Juan Mata, Everton's Phil Jagielka and Blackburn's Chris Samba.

And Hill-Wood has explained: "As Arsene said, we are looking to buy some players, but we are not going to do our business in public."

after watching the emirates cup( ) I genuinely think we will finish outside the top four this season, our defensive frailities havent been addressed and are there for all to see, I hope I'm wrong but wengers track record doesnt fill me with confidence that the right players will be bought, don't get me wrong gervinho looks ok, but we don't really have a problem going forward do we. I really feel sorry for those who shell out their hard earned for season tickets just to be let down year after year, with soaring ticket prices wenger has a duty of care, morally i believe, to put up or fuck off, I shell out for foxtel (sky) just because it's my only avenue of seeing The Arsenal play, it doesnt come cheap but is no where near the price you guys are paying, all the same I can think of ways to better spend the cash. This will be season seven with no trophies, I think, starting to lose count, mediocrity is unacceptable for Arsenal Football Club, and wenger is sitting on his laurels, I know he still cares for our club, but I don't think he's up to the job anymore.
I know ALL of this has been said time and again, but I don't post much and to be honest the frustration borne of watching wenger dither, in the transfer market, like the old man he is becoming has just fucked me right off, sorry if this is the wrong thread but i just needed to vent.

After all of these years why do i still get so wound up over this , same old same old every bleeding season.

We need Wenger out , the board including Usmanov to finance new players

Being Arsenal is hard work sometimes !!!! and we will all agree on that
Go to agree, Wenger only likes pumping our money back into his own nationality's league... who else would have purchased Koscielny for 10 million.

If the same thing had happened to us after losing 8-2 in a C.H.A.R.I.T.Y match then Arsene would get ridiculed for saying the exact thing as SAF.

arrrgghhhh everyone calm the fuck down. Were not gonna sign anyone of note until Aug 31st, and even then it will be a meh type of signing a la Scott Dan. And thats all their is to it.

I see Piresistables point though. the emirates cup was only a dressed up friendly so why did people get so irked at the result, and christ if we got beat 8-2 in any time of game (charity or not) you guys would use it to slaughter wenger, and you know you would. I think thats what piresistable was trying to say, and I agree.

In other news I hear we've just been linked with Sooty as Wenger was quite impressed at the bears ability to actually delivery a cross onto the head.

If we lose Cesc as expected, we could easily finish 6th or 7th this season.
Ridiculous? Well consider our last 15 games, and what may happen if we go on that kind of run before Christmas!!??

Is this the same Man Utd, who have a frenchman for a left back, a Serb for a Centre Back and a Brazilian for a right back?

Do you really think that's why the booing was there i.e. because we failed to win the Emirates Cup. I booed, and I couldn't give a flying fuck if we won the thing or not.

Its merely an extension of the frustrations of last year extrapolated by the fact that for the fourth consecutive Summer we've listened to Wenger's blatant lies about "adding experienced players" and "busy window" etc etc

In between all the Mexican waves and Eboue worhsip, the stadium did have a number of those that obviously go more regularly. I could hear the comments all around me before the game and regularly during the 2nd half when we were 1-0 up. Everyone knows what's coming.....oops its a corner, oops we can't clear our lines, oops there's another shit goal conceded and lead thrown away.

People are so bored and pissed off at witnessing the same format, week after week, that frankly whether it was the CL Final against Real Madrid or a friendly against Accrington Stanley, the reaction would be the same.

To put a variation on Wenger's amusing comments to Mark Hughes a couple of seasons ago:

"59,999 people can see that the defence needs strengthening. The other is Arsene Wenger"

Fergie, despite winning four league titles, three league cups and the champions league in the last six years, bought in players over a month ago, they're prepped up, settled in, ready to go and all know their job.

Whereas we're a fucking mess. Our captain hasn't appeared all pre-season, one of the best players wants away, we can't get rid of the dross AND we have a cl qualifier coming up.

If you honestly believe 'people got irked at the result' over the weekend you really have no idea what's going on at our club.
