Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Looks like Diarra is available from Madrid ...i know we could do better but i know we won't... He'd definitelty be an upgrade on Song, give us a lot more pace, drive and bite in the middle...

frankbutcher wrote:IMO Wenger is deliberately sabotaging the Club now. His decisions for the last few years make no logical sense.... Dross on massive wages, top players allowed to run their contracts down, shopping in the bargain basement, a preference time and time again for young unproven french / african players in a lot of instances. Just in the past month - Nasri to go on a free, Cesc to go just before 31st August, no new defensive reinforcements. He is playing a twisted and sick game with the fans in the transfer windows- raising our hopes and then dashing them year after year. He has ruined the Club's reputation with other sides by putting in derisory bids for their players. He has also insulted most of the Premier League - Man City, Chelsea, Stoke, Hull (relegated now) etc. The man is simply destroying all of the good that he has done. He takes the moral high ground on finances, whilst being paid £7m per year..........

Is it spite? Is it because of a spat with the Board? Is it ego? Does he feel that he wants to return us to what he inherited as he doesn't feel appreciated enough by the fans? I don't know the answer. What I do know, however, is that what started as questions about his ability as a manager, are now moving on to questions about his integrity and his motives. There are too many strange decisions being made, too many lies, and too many stories.

Something is not right.
I've got to agree with this, it's the only thing that makes sense, I've also said before that Wenger post David Dein (at the club) is a pale imitation of the pre times, it's as though Wenger is trying to destroy the club for payback to what has happened to his friend Dein, who he still sees on a regular basis and also goes on holiday with.

I think

Sagna
Vermaelen
Song
Wilshere
Cesc
Ramsey
RvP
Walcott
Arshavin

would all make the Invincibles squad.

The squad included

Cygan
Aliadiere
Jerome Thomas
Jeffers
Van Bronkhorst
Tavliridis

Hmmm, well yes you've quoted all first team regulars from this era and then quoted 6 players who hardly played a game in The Invincibles season... let's face it Q.G., the first team players that are playing 30-40 games for us now, would hardly get a sniff of any first team action during that season and I think that shows how far we've fallen behind.

Cannot disagree with either of the fwanks - you have to wonder how a manager that was so good (tactics aside of course) can now be as shit at his job as wenger is :? Is it because DD was the real brains behind our transfer recruitment ? Is it cos wenger is still pissed over the club's treatment of DD ? Or maybe it is because he has felt underappreciated by the board/fans ? Either ways I really dont give a flying fcuk one way or another.....I just know the *word censored* needs to be removed from our club right away

Just cause I'd not like to see a piece of scum like this, and he is scum you idiot, the geezer is known for being vile, did time FFS, I should go and watch the scum??? Bore off!

Anyways I'm off to the scum to "see how I like it" & "get a grip of myself". Ha, you don't half get some mugs on forums! BTW who's this Tony Adams??? I'm only 10, never heard of him!  :awnker:
A point of debate? Nah, you are dumb little hypocrite. You dont want to sign him because of his brothers crimes? Grow up.

the geezer is known for being vile, did time FFS
You sound like Danny Dyer, you illiterate little bastard. "The geezer is known for being vile", get a dictionary geezer.

Yeah he did time you mug as did others like Tony Adams and Peter Storey before him, they were fairly useful on the pitch though even though they committed arguably worse crimes.

You claim you know of Adams, yes well its doesnt look like it does it you stupid little fool.
Don't start saying grow up mate, when you are in fact making yourself look an absolute idiot. I can assure you I am far from illiterate and was just voicing my opinion, and got a barrage of insults from yourself. Who are you by the way??? We're all Gooners on here and there is no need to get personal when I don't even know you, and was commenting on the club. Don't start calling people "fucking idiots", "illiterate little bastards" and "mugs" And you've got the cheek to say I sound like Danny Dyer??? And yes I do know of Adams, I grew up watching him from the terraces, so don't try the whole "I'm a bigger fan" crap, it's very boring. We're all Gooners on here, and because I don't want Barton doesn't make me all the names under the sun!!! Do get a life! :banghead:

Have to agree BG! :barscarf:

Anyone that honestly thinks Wenger is deliberately sabotaging the club needs to get off the crack cocaine. I've heard some retarded theories but that is fucking ludicrous.

Wenger's problem is he believes he can do anything he puts his mind to. He believes he can build the perfect footballing team by gathering young unknowns and developing them as a unit into the next Barcelona and do it on a budget too.

His ego is out of control and there are no stops or checks in place at the club to reign him in. A by-product of this is he may well damage the club long term but to say that he is doing that deliberately is just stupid I'm afraid.

The issue is one of rampant ego, incompetance and delusion. NOT one of deliberate sabotage.

His stubborness is unbeleivable!!! That's what will be his downfall, and the fact that even if it is staringn him in the face, he can't admit he's been wrong!

A bit outrageous people thinking Wenker is deliberately sabotaging the club, but if you look at his behaviour of not acknowledging the obvious - and deliberately not fixing issues, you cannot blame people thinking this.

I wouldnt rule out the fact that Wenger may well be going medically insane. Either way, he needs to be removed
