Aaron Ramsey - missed most of last season, and Wenger is quoted as saying "He will feel like a new signing".

Vermaelen - Missed most of last season - Wenger is quoted as saying "He was an exciting prospect when we first bought him - and this second signing promises more of the same"

Frimpong - was an exciting new prospect for a few weeks of last season, and promises to be an exciting new prospect for this season.

Wenger announced that these new players complete his signings for the summer - although he didn't rule out buying new players in the January window. "It basically depends on whether we get any long term injuries in the first few months of the season. For instance - if RVP gets injured in the England-Holland international, we will have no hesitation in replacing him by, er... re-signing him in January when he is fit again".

"This new policy will take advantage of our ability to bring in payers who consistently develop long-term injuries" he said.

"We fully expect to re-sign Diaby in January, while players such as Walcott, RVP, Djourou and Fabregas continually returning from injury will ensure that we never have to actually buy 'new' players for the next few years".

He also hinted that there may be a surprise 4th signing, if Ryo Miyaichi's work permit is approved. Wenger added: "Although the work permit issue is frustrating, it will not deter Arsenal football club from signing players who aren't actually allowed to play for us".

"In fact", he added, "It fits perfectly with our multiple-signing policy. We get to announce the initial signing, and then, 2 or 3 years later, when the player is actually allowed to play for us, we get to announce it as another new signing".

Not only did our captain look completely disinterested yesterday but to top it all off, there wont be any signings this week as the Chief Exec is on holiday. ( source Alan Brazil- Talksport this morning)

Can you fucking believe it. Desperately in need of players and he takes an holiday a week before the season starts.

I read that Cahilll might go to Liverpool. Our Jagielka bid has been knocked back, so who the hell is this new defender that we've been promised? Unless Wenger meant Vermaelen. Also, the Cesc thing is a farce. Is he staying or not? We can't plan a proper season with his future in doubt. If he stays in then fair enough. If he leaves, what is the plan for the midfield? The Nasri thing is ridiculous. I can't believe Wenger will let him go for a free. It's a joke that his contract was allowed to get this close to the end, whilst Almunia, Eboue, Rosicky, Diaby et al were given long-term contracts. What a way to run a football club!
