Terrible business by Valencia given their debt situation.
And we are saying that cesc and nasri are staying with us as well - we all know that money talks so if (and that is a huge if

I know Diarra was wanting to go to get first team football for the world cup, but why didn't we just loan him to Pompey ffs.Bergkamp-Genius wrote:Looks like Diarra is available from Madrid ...i know we could do better but i know we won't... He'd definitelty be an upgrade on Song, give us a lot more pace, drive and bite in the middle...

Sagna
Vermaelen
Song
Wilshere
Cesc
Ramsey
RvP
Walcott
Arshavin
would all make the Invincibles squad.
The squad included
Cygan
Aliadiere
Jerome Thomas
Jeffers
Van Bronkhorst
Tavliridis![]()
Hmmm, well yes you've quoted all first team regulars from this era and then quoted 6 players who hardly played a game in The Invincibles season... let's face it Q.G., the first team players that are playing 30-40 games for us now, would hardly get a sniff of any first team action during that season and I think that shows how far we've fallen behind.
i think robin van persie is better than wiltord (who played a lot of games) even if a different playerQuartzGooner wrote:franksav63 wrote:QuartzGooner wrote:I thinkfranksav63 wrote: There's no way 3-4 of this present squad would make the invincibles, who do you think they are anyway? Hmmmm indeed.
You made a point of saying current players would not even make the SQUAD, you did not mention the first team.
If it is first choice first team then I agree with you, Cesc would in my opinion be better than Gilberto, and that's it.
The rest would make the bench.
As for Diarra, he was creating trouble at the training ground, badmouthing Wenger to other players to the extent it was annoying the other players and so he was sold on.
Was just thinking this, but although he played a lot of games he didn't start that many. I don't think you'd put him in that starting XI to be fair although he'd be close.brazilianGOONER wrote:i think robin van persie is better than wiltord (who played a lot of games) even if a different playerQuartzGooner wrote:franksav63 wrote:QuartzGooner wrote:I thinkfranksav63 wrote: There's no way 3-4 of this present squad would make the invincibles, who do you think they are anyway? i also think sagna is a LOT better than lauren, specially a better defender
What a great story! Arsenal might play their captain in a match.piresistible wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... eague.html
play him and show the cnuts barca they can piss off
Thats not the point though is it? If there is a deal in plce then that would scupper Barca's chance of playing him in the Champs lge. The point is we havent recvd the right offer. Hence yes ofcourse he has to playRoscommonGooner wrote:What a great story! Arsenal might play their captain in a match.piresistible wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... eague.html

What I don't understand, is why we just didn't say no. It's not like going on strike would have helped him out, is it???worthing_gooner wrote:Diarra's situation was managed really badly. He was impatient but his performances in the cup merited more starts and we did promise him first team football when he left chelsea, which we didn't give him, so I dont blame him for wanting to go.
