at the risk of causing anarchy on the gooner forum, i think banning taylor for life is disgraceful. As disgraceful a tackle as it was, he isnt a roy keane and certainly had no malice in his tackle. The lad will no doubt be distraught and be given a great deal of abuse for seasons to come but there is no way he possibly deserves a lifetime ban. As tragic as today was in regards eduardo, we still failed to beat a team with ten men we may remember st. andrews as the place we lost the league

The tackle was designed to injure the player, simple as that. He may not have been trying to break his leg, but he was certainly out to hurt Eduardo.tomkingsbury wrote:at the risk of causing anarchy on the gooner forum, i think banning taylor for life is disgraceful. well thats debatable, i dont think it was, for me if he was you would expect a run up and a lunging two footed tackle. its my opinion, your welcome to your own, im not justifying the challenge, but i think 99 times out of hundred eddy would get away unscathed.dvbrisgooner1 wrote:

Check out the photos of the contact on the web (some on this forum). He hits him half way up the shin which indicates to me that he wasn't trying to get near the ball. It doesn't have to be a 2 footed tackle to be trying to hurt someone.tomkingsbury wrote:well thats debatable, i dont think it was, for me if he was you would expect a run up and a lunging two footed tackle. its my opinion, your welcome to your own, im not justifying the challenge, but i think 99 times out of hundred eddy would get away unscathed.dvbrisgooner1 wrote:

true it was just my assumption - i add i may be wrong, the guy could be an aboslute *word censored* but if u check another thread there is a link (on the eduardo injury, page 4) with 9 photos from the incident and taylor looks pretty gutted. More importantly, we all wish dudu the best and hope he recovers to play againdvbrisgooner1 wrote:Check out the photos of the contact on the web (some on this forum).
