The manager was pressed on the question of Fabregas given his appearance at open training during Members Day earlier this week and the continued speculation surrounding his future.
“I do not want to speak about the transfer of Fabregas because I have done that three years now in every press conference so I don't think there is any more need to add something,â€

Just read the full piece on sky sports website about why cesc aint playing tonight and tbh it worries me greatly - it is one thing not playing him tonight but when you are publicly saying that he aint gonna be ready to start the season then you are basically telling barca that they can take their time sorting out this transfer cos he aint playing for us anytime soon
If our club really want this shit sorted out then start playing him......now - I dont care if he only plays 5 minutes but bring him to every single fcuking game and let barca know that we will be using him if they dont pay us what we want. If it was up to me I would play cesc for 60 seconds v udinese as a big fat up yours to barca

If I was being cynicial, I would suggest that he is not unhappy that Fabregas can't start the season, therefore he doesn't have to make the decision about the Udinese game. If he played today, you would expect him to be able to play at some point against Udinese.augie wrote:Just read the full piece on sky sports website about why cesc aint playing tonight and tbh it worries me greatly - it is one thing not playing him tonight but when you are publicly saying that he aint gonna be ready to start the season then you are basically telling barca that they can take their time sorting out this transfer cos he aint playing for us anytime soon![]()

Wenger is paying the price of keeping a player that did not want to stay last year. Of course, I do not exonerate Barcelona, they are playing hardball re the price, mainly because the market for the player appears to be limited to one club, and they have no immediate need for him (i.e: theycan keep this up until the end of August). We are the ones who will suffer in the meantime, with Fabregas's head not there

I have said it before and im going to say it again put cesc up for general sale.Tell every other club not just barca that cesc will be sold to the highest bidder, easily get 50m upwards. Now i know people going to say we cant sell him to clubs that are our rivals but we have to be honest and say our only rivals are the scum aston villa and liverpool because there is no way we are competing with city manure and chelsea, that ship has sailed. We are a club thats going backwards.
1 week b4 the season starts and we are still putting up with this shit.

Problem with that is that you need the players consent for the transfer to happen. If Cesc says he doesn't want to sign for any other club, you're stuffed!!mcdowell42 wrote:I have said it before and im going to say it again put cesc up for general sale.Tell every other club not just barca that cesc will be sold to the highest bidder, easily get 50m upwards. Now i know people going to say we cant sell him to clubs that are our rivals but we have to be honest and say our only rivals are the scum aston villa and liverpool because there is no way we are competing with city manure and chelsea, that ship has sailed. We are a club thats going backwards.

No, although I don't want Fabregas to leave, my way is the best. Tell Cesc that he's going nowhere unless we are adequately compensated; Tell Barca that the fee is a relatively cheap £40m (personally I would have originally asked for £50m), but it must be all paid up front because they're untrustworthy bastards; with a sub-clause that unless and until the deal is offically done a further £5m added to the fee anytime anyone from Barca mentions Cesc and his DNA; and there is a deadline of this Wednesday to conclude the deal.
