I am not saying that my opinion is any more valid or correct than anybody else's and am not saying that I have no doubts but mertesacker would be my preference over cahill and samba 8) Am glad to see cusmano, who has been critical of mertesacker last season, is saying how well he played today - for me a guy who watches a player on a regular basis would have a more knowledgable standing plus if he has been critical in the past then such a report would carry more kudo's than a gut who can see no wrong in a player

No one has banged the Mertesacker drum more than you augie I think if Wenger signed him you will turn into an AKB overnight.

I accept that, and maybe I am guilty of stereotyping here, but I feel we really need some of that tough resiliant german mentality in this team - some may say that mertesacker is slow but he certainly is no slower than samba and he brings far more experience to the team both internationally and in the champs league.

If true I wonder if the penny has finally dropped or if he's deluded enough in thinking that keeping him for a year will benefit the team????

As much as I hate Nasri and Cesc for the way they are behaving part of me is enjoying Wenger getting his reality check.
Fabregas wants to leave to return home and to join the club he supports, what exactly has he done wrong? Hes fed up of playing with a bunch of *word censored* with a few exceptions and playing under a *word censored* of a manager who doesnt have a fucking clue, who can blame him for wanting to fuck off and play in a side where he will win things? Wenger is the *word censored* here, not Fabregas

I think Merte' would be a revelation at the club; I'm another big fan of his potential signing and have been for a while.

Not only that, on a personal level, he seems quite humble; it's impressive he's been at Werder for so long, despite their struggles in the last few years.

Clearly this will be none other than Nicklas Bendtner. Having failed to find anyone to move to he'll agree to stay, which will be considered "like a new signing" as we retain one of the worlds premier strikers. The day after he'll unveil Emmanuel Eboue & Manuel Almunia as "like new signings" to conclude our inbound transfer business.

I dunno why I'm laughing it wouldn't surprise me... On that note i noticed another new signing tonight playing against Benfica, Henri Lansbury i think his name was. Apparently we got him from not going to Norwich!

What i dont understand is Wenger has always supposedly had the best scouting system that covers THE WHOLE WORLD!! Yet this band of brilliant so called scouts cant between them come up with defenders who can defend better than the bunch of idiots we have now.... We shouldn't be surprised, cos one of these fucking idiot scouts told Wenger they had found a great goalie his name is Flapianski!!
