WHY DIDNT WE PUT IN A DECENT OFFER FOR THIS KID? :x

Oh! of course silly me,i forgot, we bought some other kid for £900k the much cheaper option..... :banghead:
Wenger would have been slaughtered for buying another youngster.

Oh i see  So instead of bidding for the expensive youngster to save being slaughtered he very shrewdly bought the very much cheaper youngster
So if he spends a lot of money on a youngster then that's OK?

No it's not ok :banghead: I don't want ANYMORE youngsters whatsoever,we have enough fcuking youngsters..
But if Wenger is going to just keep on buying youngsters then it'll be nice for a change to buy top quality ones instead of the cheap youngsters...

I heard 7 million up front plus a further 5 mil depending on appearances blah blah. It begs the questions though why does it take so long for us to conclude transfer dealings (havent we been after Chamberlain since pretty much the start of the summer) and if we are supposedly so hard up financially that we can't pay out an extra couple of million for the centre back we want (Jagielka, Cahill) then where does the £12 million outlay on Chamberlain come from?

He may well turn out to be a great buy but the clubs priorities really do seem to be the wrong way around.

All the reports seem to say 12m up front with 3m add ons, plus I imagine there will be a sell on % in the contract too.
For that money we could almost certainly have signed Samba, someone who could have walked into our first team and made a positive difference, straight away. Instead we have another Theo, who, 3 years down the line, may be little better than he is now :banghead: :banghead:
This kind of signing is great if you are Man U or Chelsea and have a good team that can accommodate and nurture a young player, we are NOT in that position!!!! Wenger you negligent Arsole!!

Southampton Say this

this afternoon in one of the biggest deals in Championship history, which sees Saints' previous transfer records blown out of the water.

And if those figures are true you also have to take into account that although the extra £3m isn't due straight away you can bet it'll probably be set aside for if/when it does. Plus the first year of his contract has to come out of the transfer budget, so assuming he's on around £30k p/week (could be more knowing us) that's around another £1.5m give or take. So in total £16.5m has come out of the transfer budget for this kid.

He may be the absolute bollocks but as you say it makes all the haggling & refusal to pay "over the odds" for countless more established players all the more ridiculous.

Still, all together now: "The sun'll come out, tomorrow, tomorrow, it's only a day (+ another 1094) away..."

friend since i was 11 who works in football was due to meet his agent today but he cancelled him to meet AW instead. My mate has gone all the way to Manchester for a meeting that has been cancelled so he is a bit pissed off.

he is usually reliable and has told me about several signings before they happen or ones that fell apart that we wouldnt get to know about.

im only passing on what i heard, i dont claim to be 'in the know' so we will see if he is right.
