its like airport searching little old ladies, and the police not to focus on particular ethnic groups....its madness, however i think this guideline may have been dropped now, im sure mm99 can confirm.

in the 80's when the ira were blowing the shit out of london did the liberal media care that irish people were being targeted for searches by the met????
Totally correct. If there was proper profiling at airport security check points, the process would be far less onerous. But instead, so as not to offend certain groups, everyone gets the same treatment (even in the USA, where PC attitudes are even more prevalent than here). Fact is that those people responsible for 9/11 had certain things in common i.e. regionality, religion and skin colour. Just like when the IRA were planting bombs in Northern Ireland, it would have been ridiculous to focus security checks on men from the middle east. Of course there are exceptions to the rule but in most cases there are common threads.

The fact is that gun crime in London is committed hugely disproportionately by one sector of society - young black men. The same is true of gang rape. There was a program on C4 not long ago (presented by a black man) that showed that the vast majority of gang rapes in the UK are committed by young black youths. But let’s not talk about it and try to come up with answers. Let’s bury our head in the sand and hope it goes away. That way we can be non-offensive to anyone, when in reality all we are doing is failing future generations of these young men.

Yeh. He's saying bollocks to correct grammar/syntax. The message is more important than the packaging.
Ah right. If only I'd gone to LSE.

well i just dont like lawyers im ex, human rights ones, and injury specialist ones, so im biased sorry.

i still believe the polices hands are tired. u claim not, its due to numbers. why are our laws not enabling us to use water cannons and tear gas in a state of emergency

i hardly think the whole post was terrible and ill thought out. the gist was there and valid.
i dont think youve actually revealed you stance on the matter as a whole? unless i missed it, too many pages to read here.
No im not on the halls, i commute from home.

Our laws actually DO allow us to use water cannons, and tear gas was used last night.

My stance on the matter as a whole is too much to go into detail, but to summarise it would be that these acts are nothing short of a disgrace by the people committed and the full force of the law should be dealt with. However, i do not agree that the country is weak because of human rights law and political correctness.
I see too many uneducated people (and this is not aimed at anyone on this forum and i mean no disrespect to worthigngooner, yourself or anyone else) bash human rights and political correctness without understanding what they actually are. It seems to be the first cry that fools make when something isn't going right, and in all honesty it frustrates me when i see people say those things because if you were to research/study human rights in depth you'd see how much we really do need it and half the time it's being used out of context by the papers which seek to stir up emotion to get more sales.

But this is happening in many areas of London and it is all races getting involved.
Oh please spare me. Do you have a television? Can you see the people? You are not a better person than the rest of us because you are prepared to turn a blind eye to the truth, all in the name of being 'right on'.

The youths are looting, but the anarchists are taking opportunity of it to cause even more trouble.

Chalk Farm is meant to be getting really bad now, anyone there?

fair enuff...u want to sort out commuting from home out though, missing out big time imo

re human rights law, surely in the case whereby illegal immigrants that are criminals cant be dported due to infringing there human rights, is that not a misuse of the law??

also id appreciate a response re the g7 situation.

i was unaware tear gas was used. what should have happened is a 'national guard' or army reserve should have been called up to assist. in a 'surge' if there were not enough police...but the whole national guard vs TA debate is another can of worms.

bollox im going back and editing mssgs for spelling now.....and im still fucking up when its midnight on a work night cos of this debate

How do you know the anarchists are taking advantage? What is your source? Where is your evidence? You don't know this to be the case.

Absolutely correct. Any reference to racial groupings is deemed to be racist in this PC ruled country of ours. It's bollocks. And unfair.

In North London, the majority of violent street crime is perpetrated by Somalian youths. They are here because they have "human rights" and may be in danger in their native country. Well, yes, everyone in Somalia is in danger. My belief is that most of them are here to engage in criminal activity. In a soft environment.

I will be called a racist for giving this opinion. Fuck it. I speak as I find.

My heart says deport them. But what you're not taking into account is that when the UK wants to they can pretty much do what they want. They can arrest people who they simply "believe to be involved in terrorist activities" despite not having any evidence of actual terrorist behaviour and place them under house arrest for up to 14 hours, restricting all contact with the outside world. S human rights doesn't necessarily mean a soft country. The govt and police have the powers if they want to use it.

Sorry, i missed that, what was it?

I agree to a certain extent that this is true. But by looking at the various TV stations it is clear that the majority of these 'protesters' are young black youths. We have to ask ourselves why this is and also what is going to be the effect of these actions in the long term for the the future of these kids?
