The Wenger Quote Thread.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsene said he expects no one to leave. Clearly this means no one will leave

Wenger: "At the moment we have too big a squad. We are not in a position where we are short of players"

We are full of confidence and ambition and desire to do well. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has exceptional qualities. We feel he will be a big talent in the future. People forget that 4-4 [at Newcastle last season] is normally a good football game as you see eight goals and that we had an exceptional first half and we were only caught back when we had ten men undeservedly so and had two unfair penalties given against us.

I'm sorry...I know I've put this on the Press Conference thread already but when this thread gets archived as the Little Book of Wengerisms, today's little gem deserves to be included within it:

"There are 2 markets. One internal and one external. The one internal is the promotion of young players"

It's now overtaken the "special circumstances" effort of last year....

Yes there are 2 markets

1. The real one that everyone else plays in
2. The one you've created in your own mind where our players are worth a king's ransom but where clubs like Everton, Bolton and Fulham should allow us to pinch their star players for a fifth of their market price

"I will decide what is best for the club".

And that my friends is the big issue. This one man decides what is 'best' for our football club.
