i agree with olgit, but i still can't stop feeling excited about watching the arsenal again. even if it's a shit arsenalolgitgooner wrote:It's going to be a shit season.
Probably finish 6th, 7th or even 8th. No cups.
We'll have to endure endless piss-takes from people who support other teams. Even sp*rs fans.
I have never felt so down at the start of a season. And I'm normally an optimist.

At then end of last season I just wanted the end to come quickly.
Hate no football summers so glad we going to be up and running again.
As far as we are concerned, comparing to the start of last season, most pundits had us challenging but coming up short to Man U and Chelsea. I went into last season thinking we had a chance, a genuine shot at the title. This season reading the papers listening to the pundits, fourth is the hight of expectation and no serious title challenge and for me, this is the first season in years going into it that I think we have no chance of the title.
And the problem is, after last season and the lack of strengthening and losing two of our best players, everyone at the club, players, coaches, owners, "snake-oil" Gazidis and even the Frenchman himself, realise our season is not about a title challenge, it's lesser goals - CL qualification, then CL group of 16, top 4, cup run maybe. Basically, we have become Sp*rs.
After shelling out best part of a grand this season to fund this mediocre group, with mediocre ambitions I fell pretty sick.
I am going to miss at least the first 3 home games as I am out of the country so by the time I actually get to turn up a the Grove maybe we'll have had a good start to lift the spirits. Who knows. Very depressed right now.

No offence, but if you didn't see the writing on the wall at the end of last season, then you've only yourself to blame.bunch wrote: After shelling out best part of a grand this season to fund this mediocre group, with mediocre ambitions I fell pretty sick.
This whole 'challenging for fourth spot' is hardly a recent development.

Never felt so underwhelmed at the start of a season and we had some dire ones in the 70s and 80s. Going to Finsbury Park later a meet up with some mates and watch the game but am expecting nothing but more misery from the footy. This mornings quotes from the mad one have depressed me even more. Oh well, I'll enjoy the craick with friends and a few drinks I spose
Oh and looking on the bright side, we signed a 19 year old Costa Rican

You are right, my own fault. But this start of season feels like the pretence has been exposed. Even pravda.com isn't bigging up our title chances, "fourth last season was an achievment" etc...My expectations have been managed downwards over this summer, after renewing.Bring Back Pires wrote:No offence, but if you didn't see the writing on the wall at the end of last season, then you've only yourself to blame.bunch wrote: After shelling out best part of a grand this season to fund this mediocre group, with mediocre ambitions I fell pretty sick.

We won't win anything till he goes.
I'm buzzing like fuck and we won't even have a european place to battle for or a cup to win
The Premier League is getting more and more predicatable each season and, much though becoming established in it is all good, its hardly exciting- yippe we're going to win some, lose some and end up about 10th, hold me back before i cum all ower the computer screen. Despite that, Liverpool away today then Newcastle at home, fucking bring it on. Love the start of the season
