None of us want Europa League
Agree with all of that mate - except the bit about not wanting Europa League football.

I feel so sad saying this but it might be the catalyst we need to bring about the change we need. The Board could no longer ignore the stagnation / decline and Wenger would have nowhere to hide. After all, we were nailed on for 2nd place last season but fucked up royally (yet again) and finished 4th.

And that picture of Terry Mancini is quality - what a Barnet!! He was Roberto's Dad you know!!

Could you get 2 more different heads than Terry Mancini and Roberto Mancini??!

I know what you mean about the wake up call and understand where you're coming from but for me it would be a step too far down the disaster road. I wrestled with my conscience the other day after saying I wanted us to lose today. As strongly as I and most of us feel about the manager, the players are out there cos he picks them. It's not Song's and Rosicky's fault they're picked.
At the end of the day we're fans and deep down we always want a victory no matter how much we're being pissed about but I was sooooo happy that the away support turned today. Normally they're looking for him to wave at them! Hopefully he heard loud and clear :barscarf:

I know where you're coming from mate as I've argued many times that the blame for 99.9% of our problems lie firmly at Wenger's door. It's not Song or Rosickys' fault that they're picked but it's their fault that they stroll around seemingly without a care in the world.

I'd just hate to sit through another season like 06, 07, 08, 09, 10 & 11 as they were each slightly worse than the one before. I'd rather suffer the pain now and see the changes made that are so desperately needed.

Besides - we've got no bloody chance of winning the Champions League. We'd get to Feb / March and receive another lesson from a club that knows how to win silverware.

And that picture of Terry Mancini makes me laugh every time. My Dad had a Barnet like that but he always had a comb in his pocket. Optimism or what????

tuedays night game will be interesting, a win and we will go on to qualify for the champions league and then as already stated be knocked out in feb/mar by a team that knows how to win silverware. However loose or drw the gameand go on to fukc up the following games and get in europa, a competition we would hav a much larger chance of winning for a morale boost, end to the long wait for silverware, and perhaps inspire the team to be victorious in other competitions this season, also after the chock of not qualifying for the champions league, a real eye opener into how shit we are getting

I guarantee we would not win the Europa League.

That said i'd be well up for a few EL aways, i'm sick of the same old, predictable CL route to cities we've been to a hundred times. I'm tired of drawing AC Milan/Real Madrid/Barca/Porto/Inter/Utd etc in the last 16 or quarters. Yadda, yadda, yadda, boring. Gimme PAOK, Zenit, Lech Poznan, Besiktas etc any day thanks...

I must say its an unfortunate truth, however in the unlikely event of wenger spending before the end of the window i feel we could be quite more successfull and totally agree with the travelling side of it.

Insipid performance today, no spark. Only player who looked like creating something was AA23 and he was predictably dragged after 60min. I agree that he's frustrating to watch but can always provide a good assist.

On to Tuesday's fixture, I expect more of the same slow build up and lack of direction. No RVP which means Chamakh, which in reality, probably means we're even slower on the counter.

Starting 11 will be similar today with Chamakh in for RVP.

Personally, I'd prefer to see AA23 in the hole and Theo in front of him. I know that gives us no height but we never score from set pieces anyway and we're more likely to hurt them on the break with pace.

I don't know what to think here. Like the rest of you I don't want to see us in the bloody Europa League but if we failed to get into the CL it would pile more pressure for Wenger to get the sack at least. :( I'm not sure what I want to happen.

Can't imagine seeing us improve after todays pathetic performance. Going to predict a 0-0 result currently. Our defense looked assured today but our attack was firing more blanks then a defective kn*b.

There italian so play defensively, we all want a win and a big one, who wouldn't but its not going to happen, i agree, improvement looks unlikely and wenger is at home shitting a brick atm and doesnt seem to realise all he needs to do is stick his hand in his pocket. It will be interesting to watch tuesdays fixture. If wenger decides to go full on attacking to try and win the fans over with goals i think the italians will sit back and take it all day and have a solid defensive system. Arsenal will get frustrated and begin to attack and a break will see koscielny lack in pace as he attempts to run back and szczeny stand there waving his arms as they place one in the bottom corner. The fans will continue with the boos even louder moaning at Arsene and slowly file out early and will probably be a disapointing loss, draw at best

Tue will be tough, can see them sitting back and we will struggle to break them down which happens a lot.

Europa would be bad, can't do Thursday nights so hope they don't balls this up although I am expecting them to with no Cesc, Nasri, Wilshere and van Persie.

Situations like this call for a fighting spirit of what we simply don't have, that worries me.

The mood in the ground will be very tense, the club need a big signing by Tue or all hell could break lose if we get another static display, people may think that the season has just started but most will look at it as an extension from the collapse from last year, the lack of transfer activity sealed the clubs fate.

I won't be surprised if we don't qualify this year. We're without Van Persie, Nasri, Fabregas and maybe Wilshere next Tuesday. No creativity at all. And who's going to score goals now? Chamakh?

Er Chamakh has scored a lot of goals in the CL but I get what you're getting at.

Three goals last year, against Partizan, Braga and Shakhtar. That doesn't count anymore. I haven't seen Chamakh do ANYTHING right in pre-season.

domizzi, our left defender, won't play. so our "solid" defensive system will count on two brazilians out of three players. the brazilians' only concern is attacking, attacking attacking. and they never played together an official game.
don't worry, mates...
