Nice to see a legend back at AG

Nice to see a legend back at AG

Post by slevinlacey »

Usually get off at Arsenal station, but had a pint with my old man pre game in the Tollington, on leaving the pub saw a lot of people hanging around under the tunnel to see Robert Pires signing autographs. Was with his family but spent a good ten minutes posing for photos, think his wife was shocked with the reception he got as his name was chanted his name as he walked off into the distance he put his hands up to acknowledge the fans.

Think a certain Frenchman at our club could learn a thing or two about RP7.

Good stuff, Pires was treated like a *word censored* by Wenger and thinking about it, when he subbed him off in the C.L. final after the Lehmann sending off and then he didn't give him the contract that he deserved, this was the moment I turned against Wenger, everything that Wenger has done (and hasn't done )has turned me further against him, so much now that I hate him with a passion....!!!!

Was such a sad way for him to go. Probably the right decision subbing him off but was in great shape and deserved a two year contract. Remember a year or so after that final, watching clips back and the moment Pires realises his number is up, heartbreaking!

Class player, class man. IMO Arsene let him go at the right time, he was off the pace at the end of his last season with us and never really did anything of note again.

Fair play to him, he was a top class player that we could do with now infact he could prob walk into the side that played last night..... Nasri's not fit to clean his boots

Robert Pires, what a legend. :barscarf:
My favourite Arsenal player after Bergkamp and Henry. I also think he should've got a new contract back in 2006. Legends don't deserve to leave a club like that.
