Jenkinson shows how much the mighty have fallen!!!

I thought Alan Smith said Jenkinson had told Sagna to stay at RB.
I think it's disgusting that 'fans' want this guy to fail just to get one up on Wenger. It's not his fault his name's not Cahill, give him a bloody chance

I felt for the lad. You could see that he was really nervous when he came on and after that mistake I could hear idiots around me giving him a hard time!!! Give him time and I think he will ok.

I heard the same thing, have to give the guy some credit for letting Sagna play where he feels more comfortable. Our hand wad forced due to the usual suspects getting injured  and while he struggled at times, he was a tough fixture and he can't be given all the blame, he did the best he could.

I'm going to see how he fares when he is played in position at a later game. I'm not going to judge the lad on a fixture where most of the team played shit and forgot how to pass. We had far worse excuses for players on the pitch that night.

Plenty of reason for negativity but Jenkinson isn't one of them. I thought he did remarkably well playing on the wrong side. He may well have come from lowly Charlton, but I think he has done OK so far. Pre-season and last night. That he is a gooner and knows what it it means to us is all the better.

Give the kid a break!

Coming on and playing out of position in a must win game defending one goallead!

What the fuck do you want?

It is easy to knock the guy but I thought he showed some balls and did well enough considering the circumstances.

Is it really? Can you really not grasp where it is coming from? Can you honestly not understand why some fans might have a "negative" view of the squad? (Almost) no one is having a go at Jenkinson. I think the response to him is almost universally 'he probably isn't good enough, but it's not his fault he gets picked to play for Arsenal', and I'd say that's pretty much bang on.

It seems that, just as predictably as those who come on here and get angry about anything that Wenger does, whenever anyone has anything to complain about, you will, sure enough, pop up to claim how the negativity is ridiculous - which in itself, is ridiculous. If you think these people would rather believe that everything is bad at Arsenal as opposed to everything being good, then you're a moron. People are only commenting on what they're presented with. If the number of people who think that our squad (and therefore, prospects for the season) are in the toilet continues to grow, what do you think the reason for that it?

People who just love being negative for the sake of being negative? Give me a break

i make u right there MK. it was a massive night for him and i thought he did well. i sit just infront of the press box and he was getting a lot of support from thos around me, he's an Arsenal supporter from a family of Arsenal supporters and i think he'll be fantastic for us. he's got the club in his heart and will give us 110% every game

We were sat near the corner flag so had a perfect view of the guy, and came away saying how well we thought he had done. I thought he was caught out once but other than that performed really well.

I think some of the negativity aimed at the team for last nights performance was ridiculous. It showed a lot of commitment and some players - Jenkinson and Frimpong to name 2 - exceeded what I'd expected of them.

Criticism of Wenger and the club for putting us in the position whereby the supporters have such low expectations is absolutely justified. Should Jenkinson be playing in a CL game, out of position (!), so soon after playing in the lower leagues? Of course not.

The boys done good last night. But we will need men if we are to actually stand a chance of winning the competition!

Dissapointing attitude!!

Everyone is frustrated with AW however wanting Jenkinson to get roasted is not great for anyone is it?? he's a young kid, still learning and can't help where Wenger plays him can he??

I agree he looked ropey but what can we expect!!

If we lose our next 2 league games the pressure on Wenger will intensify anyway!! I personally hope Jenkinson isn't responsible and he goes on and has a great career for us!!

Lock this thread.

Fucking stupid. The lad has came on in a must win game and played very well. YES VERY WELL.

Fuck sake, hes played ALOT better than any of Eboue Djourou Squallaci and other SHITE in the last ages.

Wait until he starts a game first, all this moaning for no reason is pathetic.

Percy is spot on also.

Jenkinson done pretty good last night and I really like the boys attitude to the club. He said a couple of days back it's an honour to represent anything to do with Arsenal.

He knows himself he is no superstar but he his young, ambitious and giving the right guidance (of which there is fuck all around at the club) he will turn into a good player.

Fair point  I am just looking for ways for Wenger's ineptitude to be highlighted as much as possible, putting the young lad in at the deep end due to lack of proper cover is an example of this, but you are right and it would be unfair on the youngster.

Like the majority I thought he done okay considering what he was thrown into. I have been fairly impressed with his performances at right back - although his defensive work could do with a little tightening up - and much prefer the 'inexperienced but promising' Jenkinson as back up to Sagna than the 'never will be any good at defending' Eboue!! 8)

To be fair Sid I think you are angry he has replaced your favourite player Eboue...
