Jenkinson shows how much the mighty have fallen!!!

Smudger said that was because Jenks told Sagna to stay RB and he would go left back.

Good finally someone with some leadership and bollocks.

I like him. Who wouldn't be shitting it coming on for the club you love? He'll have got over that now. He looks a pretty nifty player who'll only get better. He recovered well after a nervy start and coped with the fact they were targeting him.

It's not often I agree with you mate but you're spot on with the bit I've highlighted.

My sister has been a Charlton season ticket holder for 30 years and as soon as Carl Jenkinson made his debut she told me that he was outstanding - way too good for Division 3. I hope (pray even) that he turns out to be a "Lee Dixon" signing (small money from a lower league) rather than an "Eboue" signing (shit loser from a weaker, overseas league).

We have to give lads like Jenkinson and Oxo Chamberpot time because they are already under enormous pressure - all thanks to Wenger!! Any flak should be aimed only at Wenger because he is a fool for putting young inexperienced lads in this position.

We were told that leaving Highbury would allow us to compete with Europe's elite - we're still waiting Arsene!! :banghead:

Records will show he kept clean sheet on his debut.

I would rather watch him than Eboue 8)

I have to disagree with the first post. I actually thought he done well, and he was clearly out of his comfort zone on the left, but had good fight in him, and got very little wrong.

I was happy with his performance.

The lad was nervous which is understandable especially with what riding on a game like this!!!!.Wenger always pulling this lark playing players out of position it's all about saving money so expect Almunia to be playing C/B or D/M next week so Wenger won't have to buy for these positions  .

Jenkinson did alright considering he's been thrown at the deep end when he should be starting or sub appearances in the league cup and against weaker teams of the P/L to gain confidence and experience.

Using Jenkinson in a game this vital makes me think is our squad that thinly stretched and is it time for previous loanees to be given a chance i;e Bartley and Lansbury and does it expose our ''yoof policy'' spin as bollocks??.

His inclusion on the bench, and actual play time epitomises how my beloved Gunners have fallen by the way-side.

SIXTH will be an achievement. We are now being compared to how the spuds, don't read much about them but apparently the may have a better squad, and Adebawhore is goingthere.

We've been written off time and time before but always managed to bounce back, but people can only be wrong for so long.

:offtopic: Im not convinced with Liverpool's 'revival' if they lose on Saturday they're fucked :D

Agree with some of the other comments here, thought he done well. He has all the raw ingredients to make it.

Lots of work to do, but he is first a defender and we can develop the other parts of his game. Better than the other way round imo.

If we want to look at how far we have fallen, rather than just focussing on Jenkinson how many of the current first XI would even have made the squad for the 03/04 season? Would any of the current team actually command a regular starting spot in the 03/04 side?

That is how far we have fallen in a very short space of time.

to be fair out of the whole premier league who would get in?

a keeper (Cech?) and maybe just about the centreback pairing of Vidic and Ferdinand instead of Sol and Kolo
