That was one of the finest displays of football by a player. For 27 minutes he did absolutley nothing wrong.

The frustration was he never achieved what he should have at Arsenal. Would have been great to see him pick up a trophy with us as Captain.

Anyway top bloke.

Im sorry but that is utter nonsense. If it was the start of the summer then fair enough but it was Friday when he was asked so negotiations were obviously at an advanced stage. He said straight up when asked that he doesnt expect them to leave them had a stupid grin on his face. To me not expecting something to happen means that there is a low chance of it happening so take your head out of Arsene's arse and face the fact that he is taking us all for fools.

To be honest those vids brought a tear to my eye. An exceptional player who will take some replacing. Sad to think what could've been had Wenger surrounded him with proper players.

Only thing I'm a bit pissed off about is the money. We basically took one up the Jayson ( ) on this deal. Our top dogs are spineless puppies. :banghead:

And for me he is not a legend. No way near. He is a brilliant footballer and was the best player in an average Arsenal squad. But legend? No way.
Well I for one certainly feel that not only was he a brilliant footballer but that he would have been one of the best players in almost any Arsenal squad.

The complete shit he's been surrounded with these last few years has no bearing on how good the man actually was.

I think we'll find in the next 6 months just exactly what we have lost.

But yeah, we've been totally shafted on the price. Spineless c**ts.
Absolutely agree 100% on the bolded. I'd often watch Cesc play and think imagine if he had DB10, TH14, PV4 and RP7 around him? I've always said great players can struggle a bit when surrounded by shite. They will still be great but they are thinking and playing on a different level and that pass they put 10 yards into the path of a lesser player can look a bit off. But you surround them with players on their level and suddenly you have someone that could see that pass coming and get in there for it.

Great example would be the difference in DB10's performances when he had Overmars, Petit, Vieira, Henry, Freddie and Pires to play with. Before them only Wrighty and Merse could think and play on a level with DB10.

I'm taking you for
a) somebody who didn't watch the whole press conference but still insists on commenting
and if that is the case
b) a fool

No player who never made a major contribution to winning anything is likely to be a true legend at a big club (Brady was vital to us winning the cup v manUre)

He's going to be a big loss to us, but i don't begrudge him going, for me it almost became like the scene from Good Will Hunting when Ben Affleck tells Matt Damon that every time he comes to pick him up he hopes he won't be there...

He's stayed longer than anyone else as coveted as he was by top clubs would have..He should have really gone after the 2007/8 season when it became painfully obvious Wenger had no ambition, he's wasted a few years here that he shouldn't have bothered doing, just out of pure loyalty...
Although i've really enjoyed watching him and admired his talent since he's been with us it's tainted by thoughts of how much his talents have been wasted by a manager who has taken advantage of his loyalty... Surrounding him with too many players not up to the task, expecting him to make up for that...a player of cescs quality deserved more... He deserved to be the cream on top of a beautiful cake instead he was the cream on top of a pile a shite and whilst he made that shite taste much better, when it comes down to it, it's a waste of f*cking cream..

I wish him luck at Barca and i look forward to seeing just how truely good he is now he is surrounded by the kind of quality he deserves to be...
