gallas' kegan moment

Post by jaggygooner »

if we don't win the league gallas' reaction after the "penalty" will become his " i will love it" kegan moment when the media decided ferguson's mind games have made another team crack.i remember everyone saying after kegans outburst that his team will be desperate to win the league for such a committed manager and it was only after they blew the league that in hindsight it was all ferguson' mind games. same will go for gallas win the league he's is a great leader, lose it he's a bottler who couldn't stand the pressure

After watching the highlights in greater detail on TV, I won't condemn Gallas at all. He is a human being. I think the emotions have been building up for him.

1) Ade and Nik spat at WHL and the embarrassing thrashing

2) Sagna's brother dies and Arsenal don't show up for the Man Utd match

Birmingham match was the last straw for him

1) Eduardo's painful leg break

2) The free-kick was not a free-kick as Gallas himself shielded the ball while McFadden stumbled onto Flamini

3) Ade doesn't pass to Nik which echoes the WHL incident

4) Clichy falls asleep but then fairly wins the ball back but a penalty is given nevertheless

I know some people will say that I am just defending him at any costs and clutching at straws. But I believe that his inability to do anything about these situations had hurt him a lot. If all of our team had the same spirit as Gallas, we'd be a better team. I am 100% behind Gallas who is our proper captain.

I agree 100%. I also think that if we succeed he is our leader. He is a winner. It would be worse if he did not care.

I can forgive Gallas for being gutted at the final whistle and dropping to the floor in dispair. Especially given the special circumstances of the day. But to disappear to the other end of the pitch as we're facing a penalty where his job is to be there to mop up any potential rebounds was disgraceful.

Arsene needs to take him to one side an explain what being captain and setting an example really means. Having such a young side, a captain who truly leads by example is more important than it has ever been.

He lost it.

Simple as that.

He should learn his lesson from this incident.

Shows passion, and if he can control it, then he can put it to good use.

As well as coaching players in technique, the club should coach players in leadership skills. Maybe they already do?

thank god he got up before Wenger got to him, if he had refused to move it could have been another ade/bendtner moment

Big Willy let himself down a bit at the weekend but I totally get where he was coming from. First Eddy, then three bad critical decisions, all capped with the disappointment of the final result just got too much for him. Willy sees the injustices as something personal and is frustrated that he can do nothing about them.
I think he'll be more determined than ever now and will whip the boys up for Villa and the remaining games.

Feck....I said whip them up.... off you go Wayno, fill ya boots

IHH you have fallen into the trap set by the press. Why aren"t there massive headlines calling for Taylor to be banned for his tackle all over the press.Instead of articles saying it was a mistimed tackle and Taylor is not a dirty player. Taylor should be banned for as long as Eduardo is out.To the press Gallas is the villian not Taylor

NO, I HAVEN'T FALLEN INTO ANY MEDIA TRAP.  THE ARTICLE ECHOED MY FEELINGS AT THE TIME AND MY OPINION NOW. I HAVE WORKED IN AND AMONG THE MEDIA INDUSTRY AND UNLIKE MOST PEOPLE, I'M INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO DISTINGUISH THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF!!

AS FOR OUR CAPTAIN'S BEHAVIOUR, IT SEEMS THAT THE PEOPLE DEFENDING GALLAS ARE ALWAYS USING EXTREME SCENERIOS TO BACK UP THAT SUPPORT, LIKE: "WE'LL I'D RATHER SEE HIM DOING THAT THAN SEEING HIM SMILING AFTER THE GAME AS IF IT DIDN'T MATTER"; AS IF THEY WERE THE ONLY TWO OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO GALLAS.

THE THING ABOUT THE PRESS/MEDIA'S PORTRAYAL OF THE INCIDENT WAS THAT IT DIDN'T COME AS A SHOCK TO ME, AS THEY HAVE ALWAYS HAD AN ANTI-ARSENAL BIAS. THAT WAS ANOTHER OF THE REASONS I WAS SO ANGRY WITH GALLAS (AND EVEN A LITTLE MIFFED AT WENGER'S IMMEDIATE POST-MATCH COMMENTS). GALLAS' ACTIONS GAVE THEM ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A POP AT US, RATHER THAN CONCENTRATE ON THE REAL VILLIAN OF THE PIECE.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, I CAN'T THINK OF ONE OTHER ARSENAL CAPTAIN THAT WOULD HAVE BEHAVED LIKE GALLAS DID - AND WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE, YOU CAN'T TELL ME THE LIKES OF McLINTOCK, PAT RICE, TONY ADAMS OR VIEIRA NEVER HAD PASSION.
