As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It makes no sense distinguishing between them, if we strengthen our defence and do nothing about our lack of quality depth up front we wont win trophies and vice versa.

In an ideal world i would like us to sign two strikers (provided we can offload bender) and switch to a 2 striker formation, although that is unrealistic for this transfer window.
GK as you said OK
RB Sagna Jenkinson at a push Djourou not a priority
LB Gibbs Traore Verm - need a signing
CBs Verm Kos Djourou Squillaci - need a signing
DM Song Frimpong - need a signing (esp considering ACN)
CMs Jack Rambo Rosicky Lansbury - need a signing
wide Theo, Arsh, Ox, Miyachi - fine
CF - RVP Chamakh Bendy - need a signing

Buys:

LB: Baines £15m
CB: Jagielka/Cahill £17m
DM: Javi Martinez £18m
LM/F: Eden Hazard £20m
M/F: Gervinho £10m
M: Oxlaide-Chamberlain £6m
CF: Mauro Zarate £10m

Total: £96m

Sales:

Fabregas: £35m
Nasri: £25m
Eboue: £3m
Bendtner: £10m
Clichy: £7m

Total: £80m

Total summer p&l: -£16m.

This would make the squad far better.

Imagine this XI in the premier league:

Shezza
Sagna
Jagielka
Vermaelen
Baines
Wilshere
Martinez
Ramsey
Gervinho
Hazard
Van Persie

Get it done Wenger! :barscarf:

more than a def mid with superFrimpong about to wow the world...
I really think we need to stop conceding and thats the priority IMO. Outscoring oppo doesnt win you trophies, but defensive players Wenger FFS

Armand Traore on verge of QPR loan.

http://goonertalk.com/2011/08/18/traore ... -loan-move
SURELY the traore loan move means we must have a new left back coming in.
Surely it's going to be Baines!? Surely... :?

No Scott Dann for Brum tonight, so he won't be cup tied when he becomes our only defensive signing of the summer

Sorry. How did I forget the kid who's gonna rejuvenate our defence having played nine times for Charlton & four times for Eastbourne?

As pravda so nicely reminded us, with a quote from Jenkinson on Twitter, just mere hours after selling our best, world cup winning player; "I can't believe it. 8 months ago I was playing in the conference." Oh good, thanks Arsenal. Panic over.

Can't believe Atletico Madrid have signed Falcao, he's the one player I wanted all summer. If they can sign him why can't we? Instead we get a Costa Rican kid for a bag of crisps. What a pathetic club we are, absolutely fuck all ambition.

Selling your best player & replacing him immediately with an equally excellent player? What a novel idea.....

Neil Ashton ( Sports reporter) was on radio this morning saying that Arsenal pulled out of the Juan Mata deal because the club and his father (agent) told the press about the deal, so they told them it was off as they weren't getting into a bidding war..................................nevermind we nearly signed another player!!
