Thing's i like about Arsenal
Over 100 years ago, when there were only about 4 teams in the league and they still used jumpers for posts.....franksav63 wrote:I think you'll find that Preston F.C. did it also..Arsenalhotdog7 wrote:125xDAVEYx wrote:Funny, I saw the title and thought 'White sleeves'
That, and the fact that in 100 years of football, one, ONE team has gone a season unbeaten.and only team to do it

Our history and tradition. Yeah I know they don't mean fuck all to the current board or many of our "cool" JCL fans, but fuck those geebags, history and tradition are the two things that kept me a Gooner after the initial flirtation with the club based on them having loads of Oirish players in the mid 70's and on my old man being a Gooner.
Loved the old cannon. Loved Victoria Concordia Crescit. Loved the club blazer on FA cup final day. Loved the 30's art deco crest. Loved the fact our captain dictated sleeve length at every game. Loved being hated - but respected. Loved Highbury. Loved the old NB.
All these things I've loved and Wenger and the current board have pissed them all away.
All I have left are loving the name "The Arsenal" and the odd season when we actually play in our proper jersey of red body and white sleeves. Even the beautiful football we once played under Wenger is gone, now replaced with the toothless boring tippy tappy pass pass shite we currently go round in circles with.

a very good point, can you imagine the current squad/manager having the balls and belief to get a result like that.goonersid wrote:Anfield 89 a piece history that will never be repeated, and it's magnitude surpasses any double or treble.![]()

I was going to post something similar on your lines here DB, it seems to me that all the things I loved about The Arsenal are being eradicated the cannon/crest, the ground and the original fans, it's a real shame that I think Flash's recent idea of forming a break-away club is a great idea, I wish there was someone with some dough who could make this happen, because I'd sign up for it.DB10GOONER wrote:Our history and tradition.
