Looking forward to this season...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Looking forward to this season...

Post by Rob Admin »

After today's game I feel excited about this new season and I am determined to enjoy it. It's not as mad as it seems just accept the following:

1. We will be out of the CL this week (if not group stages) and we well be lucky to qualify for the Europa Cup next week so the pressure really is off

2. I don't get frustrated at silly goal any more - I was laughing aloud at the own goal today.

3. I don't get upset when we lose anymore, contrast this to the feeling when we lost at home to Hull a few years ago. Now it's nothing unusual

Given the above at the challenge that Man City will make, Chelsea look strong, United favourites but trying to do it with unproven signings, Liverpool (well going by today's match as poor as ever), Spurs maybe signing Adebayor. All good reasons to enjoy the season as a neutral whilst Arsenal labour against mid-table sides at home.

With no pressure on and the realisation that we're light years away from competing I'm really Looking forward to Chelsea this evening, City tomorrow and United vs. Spurs on Monday.

Clge exit next week then certain defeat and possible humiliation at utd, I believe will leave Wenger one more poor result from the exit door.
That may even come against Swansea, if not then defeat to Blackburn or Bolton is another certainty.
I am actually like Rob, a quite contented gooner tonight, the pain of the last 6 years is coming to an end, and I can take some solace in that.
Defeat is no longer painful, but merely a bitter pill which must be taken bravely to make us get better.
