He won't last till 2014, we'll be playing to 35000 crowds if this carries on! Even our stuttering and myopic board will have to take action soon. No-one likes seeing their business go down the pan.

Sums it all up really. All that good, hard work down the pan because the Wenger couldn't deviate from his "masterplan".

Just imagine if he had of bought a few experienced really "qualiteeee" players over the last years .
Jesus we coulda been dominating.

We coulda bin somebody. We coulda bin a contenda

Anyone fancy a laugh?? Read these Wenger quotes, taken from arsenal.com a couple of hours after the Liverpool match.

I'm sure Emperor Nero would come out with something similar if he was still alive.

on whether he feels under pressure...
I always feel under pressure but not more than usual.

on being unfortunate...
Yes, I feel the result is very harsh on us. The decider was the sending off and as well the offside goal, it was the decider of the game.

on inexperience...
I think Frimpong was a victim of his lack of experience and of his enthusiasm and heart. He deserved a second yellow card, he should not have gone into that challenge.

on the supporters' chants...
I think the target is to have a good team and good players. You can spend money and have a bad team. You want the supporters to be happy and when you don't win the game you can understand that they are not. But I think we had eight players out today and we still had a good performance. So it is not all doom and gloom, there are positives in the game today.

on absentees...
We have injuries and suspensions as well. We had a few players injured. Why? I am not a doctor. I do not feel we have too many, at the start of the season we have a heavy schedule compared to other teams because we play the qualifier on Wednesday night. That has an impact as well - we have five big games when the team is not completely ready.

on a vital period for the Club...
It will have a big impact, especially Wednesday night, that is a game of big importance for us. After that we play Man United but we play all the big opponents away from home first, apart from Liverpool. The second part of the season we play them all at home.

on his job now...
For now it is important for us to lift the players because they are very disappointed today. We need to give them credit for their attitude and performance today, in the game it is very harsh to lose it the way we need.

on Samir Nasri's future...
I don't know [what will happen]. I always said that I would try to keep Samir Nasri and I have never changed my mind on it because I played him today, to the surprise of everybody. He loves the Club, he wants to play for us, if we decide to sell him we will do it and we have to stand up for it. At the moment I am happy he is here. I don't know if he will play on Wednesday, we will just play the game.

on potential new signings...
We look, you know? But we try to do the right things for the Club. I think Koscielny and Vermaelen are a fantastic pair of centre backs but it's very difficult as well because if you buy another centre back and then someone gets injured I have to buy another one. You cannot do that every time you have an injured player.

on his own future...
There is no chance I would walk away. I will try to give my best for the Club. We live under circumstances where every defeat is an absolutely a disgrace and an earthquake. We are at the start of the season and we are very disappointed that we lost the game. But we are at the start of the season.

Is it possible to be any more deluded?? :banghead: :banghead:

Were any of you at the game?

Post by AL5Gooner »

The Gooner has now become a one sided moan fest.

I agree we have a thin squad which is down to Wenger and the board, however I thought we showed heart and commitment today (even Nasri) and the players deserve credit for this not the menstrual moaning nearly every participant on here seems to enjoy.

Liverpool had a fortunate Goal and then a deserved one. We went down to 10 men I thought unfortunately, but for large parts of the game, I thought we were the better side.

His comments are so embarrassing nowadays that I really can't bring myself to hear or watch his interview

So we showed 'heart and commitment' did we? The likes of Wolves and Blackburn show commitment, is that the level we are down to now? This is such a poor Arsenal squad it is a joke. Wenger is pathetic, a senile old duffer who cannot or will not see and admit to his glaring inadequacies and in the meantime he will drag this club down further and further and then walk away leaving us in our shittiest state for 30 years.

What is scandalous is that quality players don't want to be at the club, leave contracts run down, teams are dismantled and never properly rebuilt. I think things will come to a head after the manc game.

Yes the state of the squad is down to Wenger so he must take full responsibility for results like this. We've got one decent CB, a 19 and 20 yo in midfield, plus a player who doesn't want to play for us and only played cos his transfer hasn't gone though yet! Today was a shambles of Wenger's own making.

Players who play for AFC don't deserve credit for showing heart and comitment, that's the absolute minimum that we should expect and they should offer. That's why I wouldn't critisize Ramsey becuase he gave 100% and as long as players give that they will always have my support no matter how shit they are.

Yes Liverpool's first goal was lucky but overall they deserved the win and in all honesty at no point of the game did i think we would win. After about 70 minutes we'd had about 2 shots on target which is scandalous for a team like us playing at home. We've got serious problems and the sad thing is even now I don't have faith that Wenger will do anything about it.

No mate - we lost that one in "special circumstances".

At this rate he'll run out of crap excuses long before his contract expires in 2014

Difference is mate - you and I leave the stadium about £75 out of pocket and we have to face a shit journey home.

Wenger and his babies leave the stadium and about £60,000 arrives in their bank account.
