Ok debut in patches, but not great. To get sent off like that suggests that he shares the same brain cell with Song and Diaby.

The problem with these new players is that there is nobody on the pitch to really help them. What i mean is that there are no senior players of any stature out there to really look up to.

I remember Vieiras debut - now that was brilliant. But what took him to another level was the likes of Adams, Bould, Wright... the influence of senior players cannot be underestimated.

ManUtd do it right, we just throw in the youngsters into an inecperienced team, and thats why they sometimes go backwards.

Its bad at Arsenal. And its just going to get worse.

we really dont need thread titles like this.

But yes frimpong was a breath of fresh air.

He showed real grit and determination. I'm sure Hansen shed a tear.

With a bit of sandpaper and some patience and he could be a formed into a decent player.

I'd agree with that. He is a rough diamond but he's worth persevering with. He just needs to calm down a bit but the thread title is quite ridiculous.
Quite right. I remember Gus Caesar having a storming debut at Old Trafford. But he did well today. Hot headed, but I hope he will learn - looked a far better prospect that Song, that's for sure.

Frimpong is the new ...er Frimpong! Please please don't do this! The kids got talent but its his first start FFS and he got sent off! He did some good things, decent runs, good energy and generally good passing...but to make that challenge when he was on a yellow card (although his 1st was a joke) was a disgrace and could have done serious damage. He has potential that's all but he won't improve playing alongside Diaby and song that's for sure!

The new Essien?? What 2 footed challenges and poor hamstrings??
Pressure enough on the kid without any more,
Let him find his feet. ( And not studs up!!)

He looked good in patches but is still very inexperienced, would be nice if he had an experienced hand in midfield to play alongside

Wonder where we've heard that before   :banghead:

just a quick thought:

i think it's a bit hypocritical of us to complain when wenger swaps a player for a completely inexperienced youngster like frimpong and them call him "the next essien" when he has his first fucking premier league match (in which he got sent off for being inexperienced, naïve and stupid and ended up fucking the game for us). remember he could've fucked the newcastle game as well if it wasn't for szczesny to make a very good save on the free kick.

this super hyping of youngsters is one of the reasons our manager is allowed to keep running this stupid youth policy we have right now which is fucking us over.

he is a youngster and that's all he is. and he surely isn't ready yet to take us to the heights we wish to achieve, that's a no brainer.

He certainly held his own today! Compared to Jenkinson's debut, Frimpong was much better by a mile. He was one of the best players on the pitch today, made decent tackles, and decent passes.

Him and JW have got potential to make a formidable partnership that's not to be messed with.

Played very well, is everything Song is not but had to go for two silly bookings.

Bye bye Song, you have been replaced.

Did you watch the game or do you have it in your mind that young players are bad and experience is needed?

He played well, he got sent off, he still played very well.

Remember Jack against brum home last season? These things happen when you put young central midfielders with a bit of edge into the side (and thank god they have some edge imo, sick of the plodders in Wenger V. 4 that just want to tread water between pay days). Its now up to the coaching staff to work with frimpong to improve his decision making and refine his understanding of the role.

Once Frimpong is up with the pace of the game and settled into the side im confident that the flaws will be ironed out for the most part.

We saw Frimpong in last seasons Emrts cup he looked a prospect.

Quick witted, good technique and can drift past players and he actually hadf the gumption to shoot from 25 meters.

Got more talent and heart than Song and Abou diabolical.

Would have been futher along but for the serious injury [again during training!] before last season.

Yes the only positive.

Barton,Neville and rest of bullies watch out.

So i thought i'd take a positive out of todays game and up until the sending off i felt Frimmers was excelllent..combatative, skillful and engergetic. Exactly what we've been missing since PV4. I know he's going to get slated for his sending off and everyones going to blame Arsene for relying on such an unexperienced player, but you can't forget the amount of reds PV4 saw in his time.

I'm honestly looking forward to seeing Frimpong, Ramsey and Wilshere lining up together in midfield this season. If Arsene pulls out his finger and signs Hazard, Jadson, Baines and Cahill (unlikely I know), I would say our squad is better than last season and won't flop at Feb/March time like we always do.

Cheer up guys!
