Frimpong the new Essien?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

best thing about him compared to song is how mobile he looked, song sort of seems to lope about with no real pace or purpose, but frimpong can actually sprint!

(oh and he has far better chant potential: oo, ee, oo ah ah, ting, tong, walla walla frimpong!)

just the sort we need .but there is no doubt he had to go.it was plain to see from the first yellow he was going to be sent off at some time.thats not a dig at the lad ,cos thats wot he is a lad.the problem lies with the mentallity of our younger players.they all seem to think its ok to f and blind at the officials at every oppotunityeven nobodies like lansbury were acting the big i am.theo wants to fight david haye. for fuk sake get a grip some one where was the cpt telling them to calm it.dont know about you lot but the managers interview after the game and the players attitude did little for the reputation of the club. :banghead: :banghead:

Umm I'm a little hazy on his sending off, do 2 yellows count as a bam or does it just go as 2 yellows counting towards his total for the season and if he gets tooany yellows eventually gets a ban??? Basically can he turn out for ManUre?

Also, I completely agree lads. I thought he was epic yesterday!

1 game suspension for a 2-yellow red card

Afte his 1st yellow someone, be itr captain RVP, Wenger our glorious leader or any other senior player / club official should have just had a quiet word and told him just to stay on feet, block rather than dive in etc - he went in to win a ball that he could just as easily have blocked :banghead:

But no, our gloroius leader likes to sit in silence while our inexperienced players must be awaiting words of wisdom and tactical genius that never arrive.

I like him, especially his bollocking of Caroll diving and his geeing up of the crowd. I thought him and Jenkinson did pretty well for a first prem start

I am going to buy one so that I can attract females.
Frimpong says that wearing the T Shirt will do that for me.

i think it's a bit hypocritical of us to complain when wenger swaps a player for a completely inexperienced youngster like frimpong and them call him "the next essien" when he has his first fucking premier league match (in which he got sent off for being inexperienced, naïve and stupid and ended up fucking the game for us). remember he could've fucked the newcastle game as well if it wasn't for szczesny to make a very good save on the free kick.

this super hyping of youngsters is one of the reasons our manager is allowed to keep running this stupid youth policy we have right now which is fucking us over.

he is a youngster and that's all he is. and he surely isn't ready yet to take us to the heights we wish to achieve, that's a no brainer.
Did you watch the game or do you have it in your mind that young players are bad and experience is needed?

He played well, he got sent off, he still played very well.
i watched the game mate. i saw a good performance from a young player but i don't think that means we can rely on only having him and alex song who shares a brain with diaby as someone said in another thread as the only two defensive minded midfielders in our squad.

i am 100% sure though that he has convinced wenger and we'll roll on another season without a proper intelligent defensive midfielder like petit or gilberto were.

of course he could pull a flamini and have a good season, anyway we don't have many choices but to watch and see what happens.

Looks like another thick twat with another stupid haircut to me but I would be happy to be proved wrong .

He made some stupid tackles and deserved to be sent off !

This being said even the great Ray Parlour got sent off on his debut !
