35 million pound profit made in transfers so far!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

35 million pound profit made in transfers so far!

Post by marcus_tandy »

I used to be a AKB but now I can't help but hate the senile old goat. How can we now be 35 million up? Now I know all these figures are speculative but roughly below are the ins and outs. Unless he spends 35 million plus the promised 40 million in the war chest in the next week then I will personally hunt him down and have some harsh words... that'll learn him!

In all seriousness though we really are a joke aren't we? The one year we had to spend we make a f*cking profit again.

Ins

Campbell – 1 million
Jenkinson – 1 million
Gervinho – 12 million
Oxcart-Champberpot – 15 million

30 million

Out

Fabregas – 30 million
Nasri – 22 million
JET – 1 million
Clichy – 6 million
Eboue – 3 million

65 million

We have made more money because the players going out were on much bigger wages than the kids coming in.

Campbell – 10k?
Jenkinson – 5k?
Gervinho – 80k?
Oxcart-Champberpot – 20k?

115k p/w 5.9mil p/y

Out

Fabregas – 115k
Nasri – 80k?
JET – 15k
Clichy – 80k
Eboue – 50k

340k p/w 17.7mil p/y

so nearly another 12mil made.

Maths correction

Ins

Campbell – 1 million
Jenkinson – 1 million
Gervinho – 12 million
Oxcart-Champberpot – 15 million

29 million

Out

Fabregas – 30 million
Nasri – 22 million
JET – 1 million
Clichy – 6 million
Eboue – 3 million

62 million

Total £33 million (based on your assumptions)

Agree with the principle of your post though :lol: :wink:

Modric = £35k a week
Chicharito = £35k a week
Welbeck = £30k a week
Cleverley = £30k a week

(....)

Meanwhile, poor ol' Arsene who 'is being screwed over by the board who refuse to release funds'...poor ol Arsene who 'wants to sign suprstars but can't get the board to pay bigger wages'...

is paying

Diaby £60k a week
Denilson £55k a week
Chamakh £80k a week
Bendtner £52k a week
Almunia £50k a week
Gibbs £40k a week
Song £60k a week.

Funniest bit?

Chicharito, Modric, Welbeck and Cleverley are ALL far better than any of the Arsenal players I've just named.

I've said it before and will say it again: Fergie would LOVE to have the kind of budget available to him that Wenger does.

I agree with the idea but I'm pretty sure that we are only guarenteed 75% of what we spend to go into out war chest, my guess is that we started with 30m, spent 25m on players, recieved 68m (of which we get 51m to go to the war chest) leaving us with "only" 56m to spend.

The 75% is an old club rule which any manager is allowed to re-invest.

Still who the fuck can we by for £56M. :?

JET was on around 20k supposedly. He drove around in a Mclaren Mercedes (£90k+) car. When he went on loan to the 1st division it was reported that he was the highest paid player in that division.

Modric on 35k? I don't think so - he would have been off before now. Spurs have a 60k max on their wage structure, I would expect he is around that but Chavs are probably offering between 100-150k a week.
