Had you read my post 'correctly' - I did not say AW was the moral compass of football...But that he has his Moral Standpoint - in life/things in general and how he believes things should be - and he is standing by them....Part of this is as manager of Arsenal FC.....and as for the implications of that....if you look around you....you just may have noticed there is a world recession going on....also you may just have noticed that Football now IS all about profit....from the players on through to owners....hence Nasri (being the mercenary *word censored* he is) - opting for a club that will pay him 3 times more money than Arsenal.... (sadly) this is a reflection of society and the world in general....However, there are those with enough individuality and 'honour' who whilst operating in that world, also do what they can to hold their ground...AW finds himself between these two positions....And as for negotiating himself a very good contract - what on earth is wrong with that - or should he do it for nothing! ?

I think Mikeyb and Duffman have been wrongly maligned on this thread. I read the original post from Mikeyb and certainly did not read into it that he or Duffman were itching for a confrontation. It was clear that they did not instigate anything and that others did so against them. They dared to sing a song and, from the sound of it, had a large number of individuals aggressively turn on them. Who is the victim here? They simply stood up for themselves.

Reading between the lines, it’s clear that some people who have made comments on here have a problem with Mikeyb (in particular) and have seized on his post to try and portray him as the wrongdoer - but even worse than that to actually impugn his and Duffman's reputation – all from behind the anonymity of a key board. I don’t think that is very fair. Not least as I assume none of the people who are making the attacks were actually there to see what happened.

As I said in an earlier post, I can genuinely say that the only trouble / intimidation I see at Arsenal these days is aimed towards people who dare show their dissatisfaction at Wenger - and most people are happy to stand by and watch that intimidation happen.

While Mikey and DUFFMAN are not particularly, shall we say, shy about airing their views, if anyone thinks that is wrong I'll remind you they're paying thousands of pounds a year. And from my experience, at games with them, people have a go at them, (a few of you will remember the ginger bird at Wembley, etc.) when they're doing nothing but getting behind the team, and having the occasional moan.
