Protest at Swansea Match

I did witness the 'altercation' in block 6 which I presume was with 'duffman'. It was all fairly restrained in my opinion - some people started chanting one thing and then they were drowned out by the majority. Unfortunately duffman your views at that time were in the minority and if you can't accept that then thats your problem. Of course the flipside is true if and when your views become the majority then others will have to acept your views and make their decisions from there. Until that time you are perfectly entitled to voice your opinion of course.

Understand what you're saying mate and if it was as you put it then fine.
BUT
it was more a case of their views being accepted by me and my views being aggressively shouted down by them.
Being called a c unt and told to fuck off down the lane isn't my idea of everyone being entitled to their view.
I'm big enough to accept that block leaves me in the minority but it won't stop me having and voicing my opinion.

Re the atmosphere...

I take as much credit for what atmosphere the was on Saturday as anyone else can. More so in fact.
Without Gallagher there someone else has to stand up and get behind the team and I did that. Appreciate it may now be difficult after the last 10 minutes to get people on side but hope at Swansea those same people that joined in with chants I started in the first 80 mins, will still do so again if they're so positive?

Unfortunately any form of Protest at Arsenal is fatally flawed.

If you support Preston North End then your fellow supporters in the ground are all true fans. those that turn up and watch because they love the club. If you support Arsenal then it is likely that the people in the seat next to you are one-time visiting tourists who got their tickets in a package deal. For every one of them that doesn't come back another new one will appear.
When your club proudly boasts the largest official membership of any club in Europe you are basically fucked! All protest is meaningless as they could fill the stadium again from those on various waiting lists. The club knows this and that's why they don't give a fuck what you think.
Meanwhile at Preston a similar protest leaves the stadium empty and the club in trouble. That's the only way it can work.
Manure, Scousers etc. probably face the same problem. You only have to look at the protests against the Glaizers to realise that it doesn't work. The yellow and green scarf movement was massive. At least 50% of the ground was wearing them. The result? Fuck all!

Sadly my friends whilst any protest is well intended and worthy of support they are as I said at the beginning, fatally flawed. I wish it wasn't true too, but it is!

Now, if you're not happy with the quality of the burgers then they'll listen to that complaint but don't you dare moan about the team!

fair play to you mate for getting the singing going (although i wouldn't use gallagher as your yardstick). Keep on doing the positive things and hopefully the team with your / our support will pull through the current crisis and if it doesn't then maybe things will change.

Block 6 was definitely a lot more lively and in fact the whole North Bank seemed to be far more 'up for it' than normal.

It still wasn't brilliant but it was definitely better imo.

Ok was in Block 6 myself and thought was very muted.

Put it down to most people being fed up with current position club has found it self in.

Was in the other corner of the north bank at the corner flag, 6 rows from the front, and we got pissed on with the rain

I'm lucky being under cover but what is going on with all those people leaving because of the rain I can just imagine what some of the old clock end boys i used to stand with would say.

Maybe my interpretation of the 'atmosphere' was based on remembering how bad it was at the end of the season and comparing it with the slight improvement on saturday.

still got a long way to go on that issue thats for sure.

people come people go, some even walk out when we go 1-0 down to Barca but thats another story. We need to concentrate on the people in the ground giving it their all, not just block 6 but the whole ground.

If we miss anyone individual atmosphere wise at the minute its Clock End Tone who I know would do anything to be there at present but his health is stopping him. A man who is always up for a laugh and supporting his team without any ego issues.

2 things I hate about this place when people make excuses

1. You can get away with not going to games by declaring someone a 'superfan'

2. If you're losing an argument then just tell them to 'fuck off down the lane/bridge'

If you don't go anymore, fine, but at least credit the 'idiots' that still go and support.
