As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I know this has nothing to do with or players but since we've ben discussing the proclaimers...
I think this sounds better especially with the dadada bit
I would walk 500 miles
and I would walk 500 more
just to be the man who walks a thousand miles to see Arsenal score
dada (dada) dada (dada)
dadadadadadadada

I bet you don't like 'Go west' by the pet shop boys but you would still sing 'one nil to the arsenal'? or for that matter amazing grace.
I don't believe we show enough appreciation to the players and the result of that is that they don't always show it to us (not clapping at away games etc). So, any tune for a player that sticks, regardless of whether you like the original or not, is a good thing. I personally cant stand the proclaimers but I think its not a bad tune. I cant stand Queen but I think it sounds good when Middlesbrough sing to the tune of Radio Gaga 'all we hear is Julio Arca etc.
this appreciation for players and vice versa is partly the clubs fault anyway because they play music so loud before the games that you cant sing to the players and receive the usual clap back like the old days. cant they turn it off and let the fans work their magic. Imagine if you were someone like Gilberto, played for the club for years, at one point your back injury is so bad someone else has to put your boots on for you and you get no praise by way of a song from fans, and when you go in and come out for half time and when you get to the end of the game, half the stadium has fucked off! Mind you, the cash might heal the pain, but the only player who is regularly praised by way of song is Henry. I love the bloke but all he has to do is fart and people sing his name, whereas Cesc is young and could be here for a long time and has run his bollocks off all season and and and (there are other players too who this applies to), yet we wouldn't know what to sing if he farted - 'who let the guff out' maybe.
This is not a criticism of Henry, he deserves all the songs he gets but so do others, even if their role within the team is less glamorous.
Some good ditties but I also feel it's important to highlight the fact that Chelsea really are a very big collection of cheatarse wankers - so why not put it to song
so am I but fuck me is that inspired or what.
Imagine singing to that twat of their "big issue" manager.
