Yeah, thats why he asked him again I think.
The pressure hes put himself under by doing what hes done to the team has definitely made him think about quitting in my opinion...

i expect him to crack and walk out at some point this season.

Truth be told, what can anyone do with that squad? He has reduced our starting 11 to a reserve/ u19 standard. His 'youth' excuse has been blown to pieces and he's looking fragile, ill and more like Ivy Brenann off Coronation Street each week. Today, I was simply baffled and stunned. There he was sat there with his feet up at one point just staring at the pitch. If ever there was a time to take the coat and jacket off, roll up the sleeves, get out of the seat and by the touchline this was it. He looked like a stressed out teacher or army Field Marshall that has lost control and is about to hit the bottle. I doubt he'll go because what's another defeat, what's another game without tactics, with meaningless substitutions and most worryingly of all, Walcott having a go at one of the younger players?
He's had since last January to see the gaps in our team, he's known for a year that Fabregas and possibly Nasri were off and did bugger all in the transfer market. How on earth can we expect him to suddenly push deals through at the 11th hour?
It is sad to see him end up like this, I never thought I'd see an Arsenal side concede eight goals in one match, never thought I'd see players look so out of their depth in an Arsenal side and fuck me, I never thought I'd be looking concerned at a home game against Swansea.
They say that it isn't the mistakes that matter, it's how you learn from them. I won't go down the 'wait and see' route because today was pathetic. I can see two options from tonight; firstly, we plod on- like 1995- and lose a once great leader in the winter or secondly, the board act now and give him an ultimatum that he does it this way or sods off.

Best, most reasonable post on here for ages. Agree with everything in there.

This is not a completely unsalvagable situation. Don't get me wrong, I don't think for a moment we have a hope in hell of winning the league, but we can still salvage a top four place out of this season.

It's a shame it's ended up like that but we are where we are. BUT there has to be pressure on wenger to either spend or go.

If he goes out over the next few days and spends £60m odd on three or four players - not necessarily world class flair players, but hard working players who will gee the team up, experienced heads who have been there and done it.

I just hope and pray for everyone's sake that he does what is necessary.

Sometimes you just need to buy what you need now, not what might be good in five years time.

I've always stuck up for him before, after all, who else is out there to take the job on, but all this time and no defender/midfield signed, what is the true story?

I gave up.
It is already too much time elapsed without any significant changes in AW policy. He must be fired.

Agreed. No longer marquee signings. Now it's a case of mood lifting signings. I can see a couple of journeymen from Premier League teams getting calls tonight or tomorrow from their agents and coming to us by 1st Septemeber.

Why do people keep coming out with the "There is no one else out there to take Wengers place" or "Who is there who can do a better job than Wenger"?!!

Are you kidding me?!!!?

I could do a better job than Wenger!! I could organise a defence better than that!! I could fire a rocket up a player who clearly wasn't doing his shift and I could spend an hour or two on the training pitch with our defenders explaining the concept of starting position and anticipation!!!

Even before we consider Hiddink, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Guardiola, Van Basten etc, looking down the Premier League right now I'd quite happily take Moyes, Hodgson, even Redknapp!

Point being, it's not hard to do a better job than Wenger is doing.

He got what he deserved today, he has sacrificed this team by burying his head in the sand all summer with Fabregas and Nasri, he knew the start we had but has insisted on dragging out any transfers for the final week as it may save the club a few pound meanwhile getting slaughtered in our opening games.

How he has the front to hide behind injuries are beyond me, if he did his job in the summer then the injuries that always happen would have been covered.

Totally agree Trevheff, just like players are
replacable then so is Wenger.
Trouble is the club is now so rotten to the core it doesn't
matter who would come in, we are fucked.
