Seen a few posts about protests for Swansea game. I sit in silence in Prawn sandwich level above the away fans, where to be honest it is difficult to get too animated or you'll upset tourists / families with kids and the Stasi will give you "one last chance or your out".
I think any protest has to be ground wide, including all Gooners and give the board and Wenger manoeuvre room. Singling the team out and not offering 100% support will damage their already rock bottom confidence, singling Wenger and the board out will only result in more spin. Lets not polarise opinions. How about a "stand up if you wish we'd not moved." type of protest (excuse unimaginative words)
Protest - we need one, but ground wide
I think the time has come for everyone to get off the fence. There's no half-way houses anymore: either you want Wenger to go - albeit with thanks for what he has achieved - and we move on and the Board back a new Manager (albeit in the January and subsequent transfer windows). Or we back Wenger and his judgment.
It seems to me that people want the easy and idealistic option of returning to the halcyon days of Wenger when bar one or two minor blips we revelled in the success which was fantastic. For me it's a bit like that first hit: you want every subsequent one to be the same but it just isn't the same.
Will it happen again with Wenger? My heart says it will, my head says it won't. Six years and oh so close. We reached and nearly made it - and deserved to - but we didn't.
Times up - back him or sack him. I think we move on. For those who want to move on - me included - the question is whether now is the right time. However, unless the Board ave sounded out the Ancelottis of this world (or someone else half decent) we perhaps need to hold tight (NB Dein made sure Wenger would take the job before he sacked Rioch).
