No, not really. Travel should be covered too, just like Wigan did. And they force you to go to another game with this deal. How many red members will now need to go to the likes of Blackburn or Bolton to receive their "refund". The CLub know what they are doing. This is just a deal to guarantee future support at other away games.worthing_gooner wrote:http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/arsenal-thanks
Well played for once Arsenal.

How would you ever be able to cover travel? Yeah, I flew to manchester by private jet!frankbutcher wrote:No, not really. Travel should be covered too, just like Wigan did. The away games are always well supported, regardless. Sure blackburn has gone general sale, but that's more to do with the time of day than the lack of support.
The club didn't have to do anything of the sort. So IMO credit where credit's due.

Receipt for proof of travel? Train ticket, petrol receipt? Get a brain pal.worthing_gooner wrote:How would you ever be able to cover travel? I reckon it will be a selecion of 2-3 games. This Is The Daybreak wrote:Well hopefuly we'll be able to choose the away game we get covered for, the Tottenham game next month will be nice. At least it's something anyway, I didn't expect them to do anything to be honest
Most likely it will be Wigan, Bolton
Not a particular game of your choice

It's better than nothing but I cant speak for the lads on here that were there.
Although I must say if its just like a specific game ie Blackburn that isnt good enough. Many fans wont be able to go to both I assume.
How about some sort of special ticket or something for the next away game of your choice, maybe before 2012 as a deadline or something.
Seems fair to all.

If it's a free ticket for Spuds, Chavs or QPR then it's a fair deal but more likely to be another 500 mile round trip to somewhere on a Sat 12.45pm ko or Tues 7.30pm. Hopefully I'll be proved wrongPercy Dalton wrote:Although it is not the ideal gesture, it is a gesture all the same and that must gaull Arsenal!
I do agree that a refund should be a refund and the fact they are still expecting people to pay for travel again to effectively claim their refund is very ppor.

Refunding fans after a shit performance isnt a new idea so wont go over the top in my praise for the club especially when these are the same set of fans that they showed zero consideration for when hiking ticket prices by 6.5%
I do also agree that if you are doing a refund then you do a full refund (inc travel) - they dont need to know how much each fan paid but could just give every fan the value of the train or bus ticket yesterday regardless of whether they drove or not
