Why would he do it?

Maybe to send a message to the B**** to unzip the coffers, I don't know exactly, but even though I hate Wenger, I've never seen him slumped on his seat for the whole duration of the game? No water bottles flying, no encouragment. Also during the game, I've never seen AA23 fly in with so many fouls, I was under the impression he was trying to get himself sent off, I could be wide of the mark here, but I do like a conspiracy theory... (not Rolypoly-like though)

I can't remember who made this comparison, I think it was on the match thread but Ashley Young cost £16 million, and we pay £15 million for A.O-C
That was me.
I just can't understand how anyone could argue that Oxo cube was a better signing for us now than Ashley Young would have been.

The problems go way deeper at Arsenal than just not spending money on the right players, thats why I think Wenger has to be sacked immediately, letting him spend money now is just a waste and will land us with the wrong players. But more than that, Wenger is not capable of changing formation/tactics etc. He plays 4-3-3, as do the reserve sides. Totally inflexible with everything he does, it's Wengers way only. I'm just stunned how the board and more to the point - Kroenke, lets this happen.
I should have known is was you mate, agree with what you've added also, but let's face it, who on the board knows anything about football? As long as the cash keeps on coming in (although this could dry a little with ticket sales this season) they're happy.
simple........since the market of free youth signings - or at next to nothing - dried up (cesc, annelka, etc.), aw has been treating new afc signings like an investor buying shares at the stock exchange, ie. turning a future profit first, short-term on-the-field returns a distant second.

if he and the board were honest back in '06 and made it clear that the financial security of the club was their over-riding priority for the forseeable and that they were attempting to "get success on the cheap" while waiting for other clubs to "go bust", we may not have agreed but would have known where we stood (re season tickets, etc.)

.....a combination of deliberately mis-managing our expectation and and misleading us on their key objectives

not only did aw buy himself time between '97-'06 but he also bought the board time. regardless of whether we fail to qualify for the cl or finish mid-table they now have the money to bring in a top-5 european coach (who needs the challenge) as their get out of jail card

history confirms aw cannot manage big players so don't expect any proven major signings while he's at the helm

the only way he may be sacked is if we fail to reach the cl qualifiers for next season. at afc CASH IS KING

That type of result has been coming for a while now. If Wenger is unhappy and making a point why sign a new contract last summer? A man of his supposed integrity would have gone elsewhere and there wouldnt be a shortage of takers..... He is implicit with the board and they are all guilty of the last few years of taking Arsenal backwards.

Fuck AW - Fuck the board - Fuck the lot of them!!

True, but don't forget he gets a 20 million payoff if he gets sacks, he's in a win-win situation all round..

Im sure if he played bad teams on purpose they could sack him without compensation and his rep would be irrepairably damaged. There is no way in the world he is doing it on purpose AW just cant see what needs to be done

They would have to pay him up the rest of his contract, there's no way he would get sacked without getting a bean... (pardon the pun with the bean word btw)

Perhaps he took advantage of Paddy Power's generous offer to refund all losing bets if Arsenal won and decided to put a few quid on Man Utd winning by a very high score-line? :hmmthink: :hmmthink: :rubchin: :rubchin:
