Protest at Swansea Match
Well done to them for taking some positive action.
Not controversial, but asking a searching question.
I think it would work better with a few banners in the ground. The Stasi would intervene but hopefully not before the message is delivered to other fans.
Let's see how the new signings do. Last chance saloon for AW?

Are there going to be two protests?
One appears to be a BSM thing, although with murky aims. I was on their previous one, the BSM did a great job, and seemed to have some effect, but I don't know what they're really trying to accomplish with this. I can't really see why we should be protesting at the board directly. If anyone wants to challenge me, what I will say is:
I do not want Kroenke out. And I most certainly do not want Usmanov in.
This is all we know about the BSM march:
So if the protest is gonna be in the direction of the board, then I'll most likely stay away, but if it is about disenfranchisement with the sterilised, corporate, dispassionate, shite atmosphere at the Emirates and the Club treating the hardcore like crap, and the myriad other reasons to complain, then that is something I will fully be behind.
There's also this other protest.

Set up by 5 guys on Facebook, none of whom I know. Seems to be at AW and the Board, but not too clear on specific points of dissent, and I get the impression the BSM guys are trying to figure out what's going on there before trying to quell/subsume/work with/ignore it. I would like an anti-Wenger protest, as polarising as it may be, but do understand that that is not necessarily within the BSM's remit.
However, I'd hope there'd be more clarification of the aims of the protests, especially by the BSM, in the coming weeks, so that I among others can make a decision whether to attend/avoid/heckle-and-then-shit-myself-at-the-first-sign-of-confrontation-then-say-I-was-racially-abused. I know you're reading this, still got your head in the sand?

The key issue as you point out is what is the message that the protest wants to get across.SWLGooner wrote:Are there going to be two protests?
Forward? is too ambiguous for me. Difficult to tell what their gripe is unless they hand out some leaflets or have a website to advertise their cause.
A waste of £700 IMO - you can buy a few thousand binliners or black carrier bags for that. And the club can reuse them

I refuse to use Facecrap so can't see what the others are on about.
Bottom line is a protest has to have a simple message. Or in the case of the BBM (Black Binliner Movement) no message at all - just a symbolic statement that mourns the passing of a great era (or maybe a just an indication of another wet summer).

Yep, agree it's not forward, perhaps they should have used Wenger's often overused handbrake analogy... we're now at a complete STOP!!!Glitch33 wrote:The key issue as you point out is what is the message that the protest wants to get across.SWLGooner wrote:Are there going to be two protests?

As usual, the guys from BSM have bottled it. The minute they are questioned on the manager they say 'we are not asking for the manager to go'.
WHY NOT?
Seriously how retarded a policy is it to follow to make soft message at the board? I mean fair enough, respect for getting off their arses but 'Forward' with a question mark - you serious? What the hell is That going to achieve?

Erm to be fair he BSM's agenda has never been the removal of Wenger.
the only person they have asked to be removed is Hill-Wood!

Mertersacker is a quality signing though. I agree we should sign Hazard, Gotze and Cahill too though.Rosie_titters wrote:even all these players wenger is signing are still bargain basement shit

But that is my point Percy: it's a retarded policy.
Hill-Wood ain't the problem. When you have a manager that sends his team out to get anally destroyed 8-2, and then says nothing to the players in the dressing room afterwards (much as the Newcastle game), then what the hell is the removal of HIll-Wood going to do for matters on the pitch??
I think looking to remove someone who has less than 1% invested in the club and hence no influence, and is just some gobby senile twat who gobs off to the Daily Star is silly and futile. Now if it was Kroenke and Gazidis they were after that would make more sense.
They seem almost too scared to offend anyone. Do I need to remind you that the biggest problem at the club has been whoever took the decisions to give Diaby, Song and Denilson massive new contracts? Who was that then? And who was it that played Almunia for 4 years? Who was it that said they would 'take second place for the next 20 years'? Who was it that got Hill-Wood to censure the fans Soviet-style after they criticized Silvestre in the supporters' meeting a year ago? Who insulted the fans with 'haven't worked half a day in football'?
But sure BSM. 'We don't want the manager to go. Just some old Etonian fuckwit who has less than 1% stake in the club'
Bit like getting food poisoning from McDonalds and then appealing in court for the removal of the window cleaner.
Like I said. Respect to BSM for doing something but errr...what are they Actually doing? They're not appealing for the removal of the board, the manager gets gang-raped 8-2 but oh no we could never ask for him to go....so errr.....what do they want?
Sorry but even Scousers and Geordie fans are better at getting things done.

The point is that BSM's agenda is not the removal of Wenger and never has been.
Their issues are focused around other matters such as the treatment of loyal fans, the ticket price hike and derisory comments made by board members.
Wenger's tenure as manager just is not there fight and they have always distanced themselves from that as a) their issues with the club still stand regardless who the manager is and b) there is a chance of dividing support for the movement if the manager's position is included ala what has happened in Block 6.
BSM has never been about Wenger and so to blame them from shirking the issue is plain daft! Maybe reading their 'manifesto' would help clarify things!
