You beat me to it. So another Midfielder gone.

This means we have left:
Diaby (Inj)
Rosicky
Wilshere (Inj)
Ramsey
Frimpong
Song
Eastmond (inj)
Henderson (inj)
Reckon the Brazilian Santos could be used left midfield.
Gervinho and Arshavin and Oxlade-Chamberlain all could be moved around and play central midfield behind the striker.

16.30 Our increasingly trusted source in Berlin has an update that may please Arsenal fans, who are still in need of a bit of cheering up after the weekend, eh?

Confirmation from a Leverkusen source that the London club attempting to sign Renato Augusto IS Arsenal – a deal is far from agreed at the moment, with Arsenal’s opening bid far short of Leverkusen’s valuation of around €20m. Augusto, however, is keen on a move to the Premier League, and he flew into Heathrow about half and hour ago to go for a medical, in the hope that a transfer can be agreed by the deadline. Looks like this one will go down to the wire…

A possible deal with Chelsea for Franck Ribery is definitely off though – Chelsea refused to go above €35m, well short of Bayern’s valuation.

We all accept that we need at least 1 central midfielder (personally I also want a DM) but am not sure that I would agree with spunking 20m on a guy that I have never heard of. Granted as I said already my knowledge on the guy is almost nil but at least the other players we have been linked with (gotze, hazard, honda etc) are players we have all heard of and 20m seems a bit steep imo

Who?
Renato Soares de Oliveira Augusto, or simply Renato Augusto (born 8 February 1988 in Rio de Janeiro), is a Brazilian footballer. He plays as an attacking midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen.

Yeah I agree. I've heard of this guy but never seen him play and doubt he's £20m worth of player.

I do think it's a shame we seem to be struggling but we all saw it coming, if you leave it this late there's little time for negotiation. You either pay or you dont. Every man and his dog knows we have loads to spend and so they're ripping us off because they know we're desperate.

If we only sign one midfielder I'll still say the window is a failure. We've lost practically an entire second string team and signed a couple of kids and two defenders and a striker - only one of which you'd really say is top class.

Your arrogance knows no bounds does it. So now you believe your an expert on recovering from injuries. So what do you base "only lose a yard of pace on" , your extensive orthopedic and physio knowledge?

Just admit, your arrogant and believe people should listen whatever comes from your mouth.

Well said I'm in full agreement!
