Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Anyone else think we should try to get Asamoah Gyan, he is being suggested as a loan deal to Spanish or Turkish club? Think he would fit in with us.

Supagoon. Sorry for having an opinion you didn't like.
Know what? You are right. Eduardo Da Silva is top top class. That's why he was knocking about the Croatian league at the age of his late twenties. That's why he also chose to play for Croatia, hence competing for a place with Klasnic (instead of Luis Fabiano, Robinho and Ronaldinho).

Eduardo is top class, and you said so.
Course though, I am the arrogant one for daring to contravene your opinion that Eduardo is the new Gerd Muller. Sorry for doing that, I shall fall into line.

16.30 Our increasingly trusted source in Berlin has an update that may please Arsenal fans, who are still in need of a bit of cheering up after the weekend, eh?

Confirmation from a Leverkusen source that the London club attempting to sign Renato Augusto IS Arsenal – a deal is far from agreed at the moment, with Arsenal’s opening bid far short of Leverkusen’s valuation of around €20m. Augusto, however, is keen on a move to the Premier League, and he flew into Heathrow about half and hour ago to go for a medical, in the hope that a transfer can be agreed by the deadline. Looks like this one will go down to the wire…

A possible deal with Chelsea for Franck Ribery is definitely off though – Chelsea refused to go above €35m, well short of Bayern’s valuation.

We all accept that we need at least 1 central midfielder (personally I also want a DM) but am not sure that I would agree with spunking 20m on a guy that I have never heard of. Granted as I said already my knowledge on the guy is almost nil but at least the other players we have been linked with (gotze, hazard, honda etc) are players we have all heard of and 20m seems a bit steep imo
Yeah I agree. I've heard of this guy but never seen him play and doubt he's £20m worth of player.

I do think it's a shame we seem to be struggling but we all saw it coming, if you leave it this late there's little time for negotiation. You either pay or you dont. Every man and his dog knows we have loads to spend and so they're ripping us off because they know we're desperate.

If we only sign one midfielder I'll still say the window is a failure. We've lost practically an entire second string team and signed a couple of kids and two defenders and a striker - only one of which you'd really say is top class.

Just spoke to a few mates who are regular viewers of the Bundesliga and asked them about Augusto.

They are raving about him, saying he is a very very good player.

Anyone mentioned that Lansbury has joined West Ham on a season long loan?

We must have someone lined up......right?

Sam matterface says that Arsenal made a 'derisory' offer last night for Arteta

dave kidd of the people says -no deal

would we get both Arteta and Augusto - seems strange to fly the latter in if we won't buy both

Matt Law also saying we've bid. Who the fuck knows!

I don't think anything is 'derisory' when it comes to Everton. We could pick their team up for a pound.

PLEASE LET IT HAPPEN!
