January 2012 Transfer Window

Post by QuartzGooner »

I think we could do well by shifting Diaby, Rosicky, Watt, Eastmond, Almunia and Squillachi.

Makes space for the summer.

I think we will try for Gary Cahill on a free net summer if we fail to get him in January.

Already talking about January. Not too early?

The problem is that when Cahill is free, more clubs will be in for him. And more than likely, other clubs will be able to offer him a better contact than us.

Cahill won't be free, but he can talk to other clubs and sign a pre-contract - although I'm sure that only applies to foreign clubs. Best thing we could do is nip in early with a £5m bid and just wrap it up while the other managers are still balls deep in turkey.

We may not need another CB by Jan, depending on how Mertesacker fits in...

YOU WATT????

nah he's championship at best. Agree with quartz, another player we'll keep on our books far too long, Lansbury will be gone next summer after his load deal too.

No animosity to Watt, but he has been transfer listed by the club.
Like Bren, I think Watt will be a Championship player.

We need to shift all of these leeching *word censored* as you say Quartz.

Cahill in January would be immense. We need an experienced GK too imo, to give Shezza a bit of competition and guidance.

Agreed.
Chavs will soon look for a replacement for Terry. AVB did say he'd like a 'British' defender.

Citeh were interested as well during this window. Although it appears they didn't want him that much or not yet!

Liverpool didn't need him now but WILL be looking for a replacement for Carragher.

Sp*ds clearly do want him.

So there will be a que.
Maybe our hope will be that in taking Arteta Everton will be simply crap this year and Jagielka could want out.
