Watched the whole game.

England piss poor in the first half, Rodwell, Shelvey and the defence were poor. Israel looked great technically.

Second half Chamberlain changed the game. First time I've got a look at the lad. Reminded me of Thierry Henry running by 2-3 players with ease. Set up 4 goals, I would start him against Swansea on that performance. Walcott nor Arshavin have impressed this season. Lets pick form players not reputation ones.

I had a bet on England -3 so when Chamberlain again tormented them and Lansbury scored in injury time I nearly came. Jumped around the room. Sadly my treble bet was fucked by those *word censored* Spain U21s.

Another showing from Lansbury which makes his loan move all the more baffling. I've no doubt he is ready now for the first team, and would provide more than Song Diaby or Rosicky. Wenger better keep him. :?

Who won MOTM? Possibly the striker Sordell because he was the pnly other player barring Lansbury, and possibly the full back Smith who even played well.

The rest were quite poor.

Oxlade is going to be a big player absolutely no doubt about it. Hoping he'll be as good as Jack in his own way.

Would like to see him loaned out for now though, he deserves more then the Carling Cup. Having said that with our injury record he might get more than a few chances.

Knowing our injury record, he will be as prone as Theo is.

Anyone see much of him for Southampton?
My brother has a mate who is a Southampton season ticket holder and he said he was good but not £12 million pound good!!! Actually pissed himself laughing at the amount of cash we paid :?

I agree he looks good for the U-21's but still has a long way to go for the Premier League

10 goals, 9 assists for Saints. Team of the season.

You sure your mate likes football?

Im presuming that is a reply to me... Firstly he isnt my mate nd secondly he is a season ticket holder at St. Marys so would have a rough idea of football. If you read what i wrote "he was good but not £12 million pound good" and a player who scores goals in League 1 (why didnt we sign Dean Windass too while we're at lower league goal scorers) still has a hell of a lot to prove in the Premier League let alone with a £12million price tag too

Dean Windas is an irrelevant point, Ox and him are poles apart, mainly due to the age they came to prominence (And the fact even at lower level Winadas was pretty shit)

Ox falls into the same category of every english player, they're overpriced and thus you have to pay over the odds. Jordan Henderson is good but not 18 million pounds worth of good. Same for Andy Caroll etc. Just the way it is.

Yep i agree English players are vastly overpriced but it is strange that Wenger is happy to pay that much money for a largely unproven player when he baulks at a similar price for a proven English defender.....

Anyway going back to the reason i posted the comment about Chamberlain, if you look back, was because Butcher asked if anyone had seen him at Southampton and my brothers mate has!!!

Sid James Flash? Magnificent! Suddenly I have a desire to watch Carry on Screaming which is probably my favourite but they're all timeless classics! :barscarf:
