Ashley Cole Back On Pitch With Arsenal Reserves

Post by Magic Merse »

From the Young Guns website

Exclusive news has reached Young Guns, from a member of Chelsea’s official forums, that Arsenal played a behind closed doors game against Chelsea yesterday.

The game was arranged as a chance for Chelsea to look at some of their players who had not featured recently, whereas Arsenal used it as experience and a chance to give run outs to Rhys Murphy, Rene Steer and Rui Fonte who have been injured in recent weeks.

Chelsea put out a strong side, which included the likes of Ashley Cole, Claudio Pizzaro, Andrei Shevchencko, and Carlo Cudicini.

Arsenal’s young side, which included 15 year old Luke Freeman, and other 16,17 year olds were ripped apart by around a £100 million pounds worth of talent, but huge positives for Neil Banfield as it was excellent experience for our youngsters.

6-0

Not excatly the score you would expect with Shevchenko against mainly 14-20 year olds

It's difficult for me to see where our boys benifit from getting thumped 6-0. on a different note though, we all hate Cashley for the way he behaved etc. but putting personal feelings aside, what has happened to him? He was superb for us yet since leaving has been a crock of shit. His ability was never doubted but suddenly he cannot hold down a first team place at a shit club! Lets be honest here, he wouldn't get in our first team now would he? Why has it all gone so wrong?

I reckon its beacuse at arsenal they learn to play as a team, not as individuals and by playing as a team every plays to there strengths. you could put a outside player in the arsenal team and there wouldn't be too many waves. But put a arsenal player into another team and they get lost.

There are too many superstars at chelski each with there own game plans. There is no denying that as individuals they are maily great players that can get the goals to win games or put in tackles to save games. But as a team they dont play THAT well.

The same went for the Galaticos of Real Madrid. Beacuse of the individual skill and ability they still managed to perform to a high standard, but as a team they just didn't click in the way that a great TEAM would.

Great Players Don't Always Make Great Team Players.

this reminds me of his last match in a Arsenal shirt
he played at Underhill for the b team along with Theo, Ali, Pascal, Blondie & Ade all in the same team that night
this is a classic picture of how low he went

Arsenal makes good players play like great ones

Very true. Look at Henry, Vieira, Overmars, Petit, to an extent bobby pires.
