Samuel Eto'o?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Smoothie no one is saying we should "spunk" money but instead buy players who fit the bill and are at the top of their game

Yes we have bigger debts but we have 25 years to pay off the stadium. And dont tell me we are not raking it in at AG.We are in the top 5 richest clubs in Europe,we are a big club yet we spend less money than the likes of West Ham Pompey and sorry to say the Spuds

I'll tell you what. If Arsenal ever make a truly top class signing whilst Wenger is in charge, I will walk from Finsbury park to AG with my knob hanging out wearing a spuds shirt with 'kick my balls' written on the back.

To clarify:- By top class I mean a player that is at the top of their game, an established big name and sought after by a few big clubs.
PEOPLE ON THE FORUM THAT MAKE RASH SUGGESTIONS LIKE THAT HAVE A TRACK RECORD OF FAILURE. SURE YOU DON'T WANT TO CHANGE THAT FORFEIT, SPUDMASHER?
Its okay Hlebby. I have absolute confidence that We will not sign any such player. The only exclusion I would make is if the player publicly stated before bidding started that he only wanted to play for Arsenal. If he didn't state that then Chelsea or Manure would scare us out of the bidding by throwing ridiculously big figures at his club. I am confident that my Willy will remain tucked away and do not retract my pledge. :D :D
DO I DETECT FROM THE IMPOSITION OF ANOTHER CLAUSE, THAT ON REFLECTION YOU REALISED YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN A TAD HASTY WITH YOUR DECLARATION?

No, I am entirely confident. I just think that there has to be fair competition and if Kaka says "I would only go to England if it was Arsenal" then fees and bidding wouldn't apply so neither should my genitals

How many players games have improved since we lost Henry?

If Spunking money is the solution then we are no better than the Cancer that is Chelsea and Man u
Please - that is one example of a big money player leaving and it helping out the harmony of the team. I don't know why you generalise so much. It makes no sense to me. Just because Henry leaving had a positive impact on the team does not mean that signing Kaka and Ronaldinho will have a bad impact...

Unsurprisingly Smoothie, you didn't answer my question. If Chelsea and United keep winning the league and we keep refusing to spend money...then what? What do we do then? Answer me that.

I think we need to invest in a world class goalkeeper & left winger, Goalkeeper? winger I fancy Hatem Ben Arfa from Lyon or Querasema from Porto.

I dont know the excact figure but i beleive we spent circa 11m on Hleb and it has taken him a while to settle, yet we spend ??m on sagna and he fit's in like Ron Atkinson at a kkk meeting.

And how long will the likes of Fabregas and Ade hang around for when the likes of Barca,Madrid and Milan come knocking offering them a better chance of winning things.

I thought the idea of building a 60,000 stadium was to compete with the giants of Europe. We have some great youngsters but Smoothie are you seriously saying you would not sign Eto"o if he was available at £20m
