I agree that squad unity and harmony is precious, and it is the basis of our success so far this season. But that doesn't rule out going for big name players.tonysaunders wrote:Please - that is one example of a big money player leaving and it helping out the harmony of the team. I don't know why you generalise so much. It makes no sense to me. Just because Henry leaving had a positive impact on the team does not mean that signing Kaka and Ronaldinho will have a bad impact...TheOne2Smooth wrote:I want my club to be successfull but not at the expense of £20 million player who can upset the unity of the squad,
How many players games have improved since we lost Henry?
If Spunking money is the solution then we are no better than the Cancer that is Chelsea and Man u
Unsurprisingly Smoothie, you didn't answer my question. If Chelsea and United keep winning the league and we keep refusing to spend money...then what? What do we do then? Answer me that.
Henry needed to move on for his own sake - he was becoming stale, which was having a negative effect on the whole squad; we can see that now.
But we could (if Wenger wanted) sign a player like Eto'o without undermining unity in the squad. You can't tell me, for example, that buying Eto'o and selling Bendtner would result in lower levels of squad unity, Bendtner being a devisive egomaniac.
We should face up to the fact that next season we have a fundamental problem with our strikers, i.e. only one reliable and proven striker. Before the Eduardo injury, I was just about content with the strikers we have, but now it is clear we need more, else we risk screwing next season up before it starts.
