Where do we go from here...?

Where do we go from here...?

Post by AFCWozza »

Glory, success, free flowing football, the beautiful game at its beautiful best a transitional period in English football and the way it is to be played. All this with the added element of a mental strength of heroes, a TEAM full of winners, a team full of INVINCIBLES. Wenger has brought all this and more to our eyes as Arsenal fans, players we could only have dreamed of witnessing in the red and white, some of the worlds very very best.

Its been a long 6 years without glory, 6 painful years, thankfully there are other "big" clubs who are more worse off than us in that case, Liverpool have failed to win the title in 21 years, Spurs 50 years, we've been spoilt, we've experienced glorious times and unfortunatly the face of football has now changed.

How do we possibly compete with Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, how do we possibly match there wages, pay the fee's they pay for players, football is in a sad sad state of affairs, us as fans are being forced to pay more and more season upon season, not so long ago £58 at Chelsea would have payed for entry to 4 or 5 matches. We are clearly struggling to compete with the financial power coming from these clubs, to stay as a force in English football i feel we need serious investment.

As most of you know on here i am a fairly positive guy about the Arsenal, and our manager Arsene Wenger, i have taken a fair amount of stick for what some people may say is a blind faith in the way we are run as a club and the way we try to play the beautiful game. I HATE to see the abuse this guy is getting, he really did do so much to make Arsenal challenge on all fronts despite huge investment for at least 3 other clubs elsewhere, personally i believe that if the dosh was available he would be spending it, he built an invincible squad with players HE purchased. I have no qualms with people wanting Wenger out, but the level of abuse this man is recieving is unjust, he's dedicated nearly 20 years of his life to our club, he has bought us huge success, moved the club on to a major european club.

On the pitch nothing seems to be going right at the moment, lady luck, poor defensive errors, missing chances up the other end, there is a real lack of belief, a lack of real leadership, im pretty sure we could sign any center back in the world at the moment and we would still be conceding goals and struggling to win games, things need to change..

My opinion is that Wenger needs to go upstairs, we need a fresh manager, someone who is in the same mould of Wenger, but someone who can rejuvenise this squad, give them the belief, the will to win, the hunger, we also need serious investment and we need it before January so the new manager has cash to spend, we clearly need 2 or 3 world class signings, something needs to change, i am mr positive but i do feel it needs to be Arsene.

Thanks for everything, but please, lets move upstairs, and lets see a younger, ambitious with fresh ideas manager come in and move this club onto the very next level.

As fans we need to get behind our boys, until things change they need our support whilst on the pitch, any demonstrations and things like that need to be carried out away from the pitch, There was an Arsenal before Arsene, but there will be an Arsenal after Arsene and as the quality fans we are we NEED to give our all

Where do we go from here?

Come On You Gunners

Not sure where "we" go, but I'm pretty sure your thread's heading to the big lock-in in the sky.

Wenger needs to go upstairs in the fucking asylum wher he belongs.

Wenger cant be anywhere near AFC. His corrosovie, arrogance, eccentricities and penny pinching would still be there corrupting the club.

WENGER OUT NOT UP OR SIDEWAYS!

I'm in know way an AKB, just because i agree with the way our club has been run, and i admire Wenger hugely, i dont tend to agree with all his decisions, i dont think the sun shines out of his arse.

Im ARSENAL through and through

Are you now denying that you're AKB?

We could do with you in the team. You've back-tracked quicker than Song or Arshavin ever could.

I agree with you in the sense that the amount of abuse he gets on here is really sad to see. I will never forget how wonderful it was following Arsenal during 1997-2006 or so.

But like other great managers in the past (Brian Clough, George Graham, Jock Stein) he has lost his way and not adapted to the way the game has changed in England and I firmly believe it is time for him to leave us altogether, a couple of years ago I was thinking a move upstairs could be beneficial but I think for a new manager to be answering to Wenger and who he spends his money on wouldn't be doing much good and we need a clean slate at managerial level who will bring in his own coaches and bring us back to where we should be.

RVP needs to be dropped as captain, stevie wonder could lead that team and motivate the players better than he could,as for his set pieces they are awful.

on the plus side i thought arteta was decent allround game was good and not affraid to put it about.

Wenger has spent 56 million pounds this summer. He couldnt even beat a side that were protesting for their manager to be sacked 4 games into the season. A side that are the worst in the PL comfortably.

Scratch that we could not only not win or draw, we were hammered by this side. Led by an overweight Championship player they destroyed us.

In a way we made Blackburn look alot better than they really are. It will be a come down next weekend when the likes of Norwich smash them up.,

Why would he need to go upstairs?

If he's failed then he shouldn't influence or hinder a new manager, the only place he should is down to youth level as that seems his real desire at the moment or in the accounts department.

Him going upstairs would be as bad as him staying as manager.

Where do we go from here? It's gonna get worse before it gets better.
